As my regular readers will know, I have written this short blog series to reflect on the progress we’ve made when it comes to our sustainability goals in the last year. So far, I’ve reviewed the advances we’ve made when it comes to creating more sustainable packaging and highlighted how we are working with others to collaborate on better waste management. I’d like to close the series by detailing the work we’re doing to educate and inform others on how we can work together to achieve progress:
As my regular readers will know, I have written this short blog series to reflect on the progress we’ve made when it comes to our sustainability goals in the last year. So far, I’ve reviewed the advances we’ve made when it comes to creating more sustainable packaging and highlighted how we are working with others to collaborate on better waste management. I’d like to close the series by detailing the work we’re doing to educate and inform others on how we can work together to achieve progress:

As a leader in responsible packaging, we know that educating consumers, governments and industry leaders is key to help keep packaging out of the environment:
• We are proactively and regularly using a range of channels – including our website, media and podcasts – to communicate with our customers, consumers and governments about how they can play their role in keeping packaging out of the environment.
• For example, in the US, we are working with the Every Bottle Back initiative to educate and encourage consumers to recycle the bottles they use.
• Find out more about how we’re working with the Recycling Partnership to improve consumer education here: https://www.amcor.com/insights/big-ideas
We are also proud that we are increasingly relied upon to share and establish packaging design standards as well as driving alignment and consistency around the world.
We have worked closely with the Consumer Goods Forum (CGF) to create the Golden Design Rules which aim to decrease the complexity of the recycling process and increase recycling rates. Along with the CGF we have worked to inform governments about the challenges and opportunities around extended producer responsibility legislation and ensure any legislation provides strong sustainable outcomes.

I hope you have enjoyed finding out how we have progressed with our sustainability goals over the last year. In November, we will publish our annual sustainability report where we will reveal even more details behind the progress of our pledge. Come back soon to find out more.
