Manchester, Mich., May 12, 2026 — Amcor (NYSE: AMCR, ASX: AMC), a global leader in developing and producing responsible packaging solutions, announced that all its rigids packaging sites in the U.S. have been awarded the national designation of Registered Apprenticeship from the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), marking another milestone in the company’s long-term investment in the next generation of skilled talent. As part of National Apprenticeship Week, Amcor representatives attended an event in Washington, D.C., and officially signed new Registered Apprenticeship standards.
Amcor is committed to offering strong career paths to its skilled workforce, building out the apprenticeship programs at its U.S. rigids sites in a variety of areas such as automation, machine maintenance, thermoform tooling and more based on the specific needs of each location. The new designation from the U.S. DOL and the related standards will further solidify long-term talent development strategies for these sites by creating a consistent, scalable approach to developing talent, including certifications accepted nationwide, competitive wages and benefits, technical instruction and mentorship from master craftspeople.
“At Amcor, we are investing in the future workforce where we live and operate,” said Ezequiel Olivero, vice president of Human Resources Global Rigids. “This designation will help us elevate our approach in communities across the U.S. so we can make opportunities more accessible for those building their careers while ensuring we can deliver on behalf of our customers for generations to come.”
Apprenticeship pathways at Amcor entail classroom and hands-on training for at least one year. During this time, apprentices learn safe operating procedures and problem-solving skills as they pursue a certification and a meaningful career at Amcor. In addition to customized training, career advancement opportunities and earning while they learn, apprentices at Amcor benefit from industry-recognized credentials and Amcor’s rigorous Environment, Health & Safety program dedicated to maintaining a safe work environment.
As apprentices complete their apprenticeship, they have the ability to look at opportunities across Amcor’s broader network of sites where the company may have needs as master craftspeople retire. The company also encourages apprenticeship applications from veterans, who may be able to apply previous service and skills toward completing the apprenticeship program of their choice.
