Founded in 1885 in Angers, France, by pharmacist Émile Giffard, the company Giffard was born from a simple yet inspired idea: a refreshing peppermint drink, the Menthe-Pastille, that proved so popular it led its creator to abandon his pharmacy and dedicate himself entirely to the art of liqueur-making. Starting from the original peppermint-based recipe developed by Émile, the company produces two distinct product families. The first is the Menthe-Pastille, an icon and the recipe that started it all. The second is the broader Giffard range: approximately 90 syrups and 60 liqueurs crafted for bartenders and industry professionals worldwide.

How did this growing beverage brand quickly expand production?

Managing a portfolio of that scale demands more than production capacity, it requires a supply chain that is technically sound and commercially reliable.

Giffard selected Amcor's Stelcap Versaluxe for their liquor line — a long-skirt aluminium screwcap with a specific pourer insert designed for the spirits industry.
This screwcap supports a wide array of customizable decoration options and comes in several sizes, making it compatible with a broad range of bottle formats.

Since 2020, Giffard has recorded consistent annual growth of 10%. Part of that performance is underpinned by its partnership with Amcor, which Sophie Doisy, Production & Procurement Director, describes as "a 360-degree collaboration - both technical and commercial."

How did Giffard’s production team increase capping efficiency and reliability?

1. Immediate Hands-On: In the short term, Amcor Field Technical Service engineer, Stéphane Lhomme, worked alongside Giffard's team to address the capping lines' technical challenges quickly and directly, optimizing the workflow and enabling increased production capacity.
2. Knowledge-Sharing: Over the longer term, Stéphane provided structured training sessions for Giffard's internal team, designed to build in-house competency and reduce future dependency onneed for external support.

The outcome was not just a technical fix, but a measurable improvement in the team's knowledge on running the capping line efficiently and reliably.
