Amcor teamed up with Alter Eco, the French organic snack producer, to introduce a recyclable* paper-based, lightweight packaging solution for its 200g chocolate range.

Rooted in responsibility, Alter Eco saw packaging as a clear opportunity to go further in its sustainability journey. With AmFiber™ Performance Paper, the new pack delivers up to 61% weight reduction versus the previous solution and is recyclable in the French paper stream, supporting material reduction and circularity. Moreover, the brand achieved a natural kraft look, enhancing authentic shelf appeal.

Paper-based packaging can be a powerful lever – not only to strengthen sustainability credentials but also to create stronger consumer resonance. Amcor’s Sustainability Claims Report shows that 72% of European consumers understand paper-based packaging claims and find them persuasive. Moreover, 63% of European shoppers say that they are actively taking steps to increase their use of paper packaging.*

Many consumers increasingly prioritize more sustainable packaging, and they seek solutions that feel authentic, natural and close to tradition. For organic shoppers in particular, packaging is expected to reflect the same values as the product itself.
