Earlier today a serious fire started in Amcor Flexibles Europe & America’s (AFEA) plant in Livingston, Scotland causing significant damage to the main facility as well as the secondary buildings. Fire fighters are on site and are containing the situation.

Thanks to Amcor’s strong focus on safety, all co-workers were quickly evacuated according to emergency procedures and everyone has been accounted for. One of the 84 co-workers suffered a minor burn to the back of their hand and is being examined at a local hospital. The well-being and safety of all co-workers at the site is Amcor’s top priority.

AFEA’s culture of customer and market focus and dedication to seamless operations means an action plan to meet customers’ needs through alternative resourcing is already fully active.

Amcor thanks all involved, particularly the local emergency services, for their quick response.
