Amcor TapeTop® keeps your herbs fresh

Markets & Products
Portuguese retailer Pingo Doce and their packer ELS, Lda have recently introduced Amcor TapeTop® for their fresh cut herbs.

March 5, 2009

Amcor TapeTop® (patent pending) incorporates a reclosing mechanism on a standard pack. This allows multiple reclosing and therefore helps to reduce food waste. To keep your herbs fresh once the pack has been opened, simply detach the strip, roll the film down and tape over the top.

"Consumers are looking for reclosable packaging solutions. There are many fresh cut herbs in rigid plastic trays on the market. By using Amcor TapeTop® we provide a cost effective, reclosable packaging solution and at the same time reduce the packaging weight to a minimum," explains Tiago Ferreira, Commercial Director at ELS, Lda.

ELS, Lda's herb packs also combine another Amcor innovation - Amcor P-Plus® permeability film. The modified atmosphere inside the pack created by the film technology slows down the metabolism of the herbs. By using Amcor P-Plus® with Amcor TapeTop®, the packaging helps to keep the herbs fresh and to retain their flavours for longer.

Amcor TapeTop® can be applied on a variety of films and also suits other market segments such as snacks, confectionery or dried beverage powder.

So, when you want to season your dishes with fresh herbs from Portugal, choose the recloseable, light weight packs from ELS, Lda.
