From cocoa to cotton, satsumas to sunscreen, Fairtrade products are synonymous with a fair wage for farmers.
The Fairtrade Foundation works in over 84 countries to tackle poverty through trade, not aid. By creating more sustainable and economically stable supply chains, Fairtrade ensures dignity and fair wages for farmers and producers across the world.
Catherine works with businesses on their Fairtrade journey and works with organizations and charities to raise awareness. She represents farmers and workers to get sales on terms fair to them through the Fairtrade minimum price.
When asked if Fairtrade really makes a difference, Catherine says, “I can promise you it does, I’ve seen it with my own eyes. Fairtrade has really changed lives.” Catherine has worked with the Fairtrade Foundation in various capacities since 2011.
On this podcast, they talk about the impact of fair trade, what’s involved in getting products certified and how packaging plays a role.
