Adrienna Zsakay, CEO at Circular Economy Asia, talks with David Clark about why the future of sustainability will be decided in Asia.

Originally from Australia, Adrienna has spent many years living in Asia, including in Sri Lanka, South Korea, and Thailand. Adrienna has an Asian Studies degree from the University of Western Australia and also studied International and Asian food law at Michigan State University.
“As the circular economy moves on, we want people to make choices in everything. Empowering consumers to make choices now will make the ongoing circular economy effort easier,” Adrienna on changing perceptions in the Asian market and the opportunity for change in Asia, “24 countries in Asia have more than 50% of world population, so the numbers are with us, it's not anywhere else. We are the engine room of the world and I believe that the sustainability of the planet will be decided here in Asia.”
Creating a roadmap for circular plastics and packaging in Asia is part of the reason Adrienna created the Asian Plastics and Packaging Agreement (APPA) and works tirelessly within the region on this issue.
