About Maison Deutz

Maison Deutz, an independent Champagne house founded in 1838 in Aÿ, France, is one of the region’s most prestigious terroirs. Today, the Champagne House continues to pursue a vision rooted in excellence and exclusivity. True to its founding spirit, Deutz crafts luminous, precise, and balanced wines, reflecting a savoir-faire where tradition and modernity exist in perfect harmony.

Amour de Deutz embodies that vision at its highest level, expressing the House's relentless pursuit of precision, purity and excellence through one of its most exclusive Champagnes.

Amour de Deutz Rosé: evolving an icon

Amour de Deutz Rosé is the result of nine years of patient ageing in the House's cellars and a tribute to some of Champagne’s most remarkable terroirs.

The capsule redesign set out to bring a stronger sense of prestige, refinement and contemporary elegance to this defining element of the bottle.

Far more than a finishing touch, the capsule is, as Deutz puts it,"the only element that remains visible once the bottle rests in its cooler” , making it a critical driver of consumer perception that requires flawless execution.

For nearly 100 years, Amcor has been dressing the bottles of Champagne Deutz, crafting hoods that reflect the House’s elegance and savoir-faire.

Into the capsule design Process: Colour, form, and function

When Deutz’s marketing and development teams set out to bring more light and modernity to the visual identity of the cuvée, Amcor was there from the very first conversation.

The Maison chose Champaluxe, a two-piece polylaminate capsule for sparkling wine to enhance the brand identity of their Amour de Deutz Rosé.

What followed was a collaboration between Maison Deutz and Amcor’s Design-to-Process team:

  1. Colour trials conducted directly in Amcor’s laboratory with the support of Amcor’s in-house colourist, then applied to the House's bottles to evaluate the result under true-to-life conditions. “Amcor immediately grasped the nuance,” the House explains.
  2. Dimensional compliance and skirt bonding guaranteed that the capsule fit securely and remained firmly sealed across every bottle in production, ensuring repeatability and product integrity across batches.
  3. UV spot detailing ensured the capsule sits perfectly aligned with the label, so every visual element on the bottle comes together with precision.
  4. Easy-opening functionality ensured the consumer experience is effortless, without compromising on elegance

Each of these elements had to work in harmony to meet the high standards Deutz wanted to achieve for their prestigious cuvée.

What makes this collaboration distinctive, according to the House, is Amcor’s responsiveness on the ground with technicians of the Field Technical Service collaborating on Deutz’s capsuling lines, working shoulder-to -shoulder with operators to ensure a smooth transition and trouble-shoot any challenges in real time.

It's a partnership built on proximity, precision, and shared values. Watch the full video interview with Maison Deutz.
