"Each for Equal" on International Women's Day 2020

Amcor’s position as a global packaging leader is made possible thanks to the collective effort of all our people. We are proud of the diversity of our organization, with locations in more than 40 countries and employees representing many more.

To mark IWD 2020, we gathered the voices of Amcor women on the topics of collaboration and accelerating towards Amcor's sustainability commitments.

Global collaboration

With around 50,000 colleagues spread across 40 countries, collaboration between our 250 sites, our six business groups and corporate teams, and across the globe lifts our performance and helps us delight customers. This is possible thanks to inspired and dedicated colleagues that look out for each other, regardless of gender, and the world around them.

“Amcor is not just a packaging company. We take care of our people and safety, encourage teams and lead on packaging innovation. A big part of working here is my team and my colleagues. Amcor is my life.” – Lillian Zhang, Operation General Manager, China

“We’re constantly taking a hard look at ourselves, looking at where we can be better, making efforts to be better.” – Jonelle Simon, Supply Chain Manager – Protein, Wisconsin

*“People are motivated and love what they do.” – Elizabeth Nugent, Vice President of Medical Healthcare, The Netherlands *

Facilitating change through a diverse workforce

One benefit of a global organization is the different points of view that Amcor people bring to work every day. Different backgrounds, cultures, experiences, ages and skills contribute to positive change and better solutions for people and the planet.

“The opportunities and change to the status quo will come from everyone regardless of gender, age and background.” - Roawin Luo, Sales Director, Singapore

“Regardless of background, country or culture, Amcor helps foster an environment of growth where we can contribute our skills and knowledge to the company.” – Jessica Sui, Finance Reporting and Energy Category Management, Michigan

“The people. That’s the best. The connection of the people in my team and other teams – we are enriched by different points of view. There are so many people that want to make a difference, you really feel it when you work here.” – Noemi Bertolino, Product Development Director, Switzerland

Working towards a common sustainability agenda

By working towards our winning aspiration to be the leading global packaging company and better protect the environment, people have real purpose in what they do every day. A great example is our 2025 pledge, which sets a unified direction to galvanize continuous action to protect our planet.

*“A well running supply chain is able to provide the support and vision needed for our sustainability goals. A lot of smart people are working in technical roles and we work with procurement, R&D, and sales and marketing to make sure things are rolled out properly for our customers. We’re the glue in the middle of everything, working collaboratively with other teams to make sure we meet our sustainability goals.” – Jonelle Simon, Supply Chain Manager, Wisconsin *

*As a communicator, I am part of a team that is responsible for sharing information and engaging people around Amcor's commitments to improve our environmental performance. I wholly trust that Amcor made that pledge and is fulfilling its promise, whilst maintaining the quality and safety of the packaging we produce. – Dulce Carrillo, Communications for LATAM, Florida *

*“I've really enjoyed educating our customers and internal team about how we can change consumers’ mindsets and inform them on how to properly recycle. I’m keen for people to learn more about the facts and it's fun to be a part of those conversations and show why it’s such a complex issue – beyond the media narrative.” – Emily Work, Direct Program Manager, Michigan *
