This year, in celebration of World Food Day, we are proud to spotlight a special initiative led by our Amcor Cares foundation in the United States.
Thanks to contributions from Amcor, our colleagues and other partners, local food banks in the United States will receive more than 75,000 meals to support people in need.
“We are very excited about this initiative,” said Mary Ann Dilling, Amcor Cares Director of Community Relations. “This seemingly small effort has a significant impact on many households facing food insecurity. We couldn’t be prouder to work for a company that supports the communities where we live."
To boost team engagement and creativity, colleagues are participating in designing and building a unique structure using their donated food boxes. Awards will be given for Best Amcor World Food Day Design 2024, with donations to their local food banks in their honor.
World Food Day is celebrated every year on Oct. 16 and raises global awareness about hunger, inspiring action toward greater access to food. This year’s theme – “The right to food for a better life and a better future” – emphasizes the importance of ensuring diverse and healthy food options for all, particularly those most in need.
As a packaging company, we play a vital role in delivering essential food and beverages to people worldwide. Throughout the year, many Amcor locations have been actively involved in initiatives that provide direct aid to local food banks and families in need.
