We are incredibly proud to celebrate the reach and success of this year’s cleanup initiatives, running from Sept. 23 to Oct. 7 in support of World Cleanup Day.

More than 50 Amcor locations and over 2,500 colleagues from around the globe took action and contributed to clean up their local environments, showcasing their commitment and dedication to removing waste from the nature. Together, they collected and properly disposed more than 5,000 kilograms of waste from rivers, seashores, forests and parks across coastal towns and urban areas. These efforts demonstrate once again the significant impact that our collective actions can achieve.

“It’s inspiring to see every year the energy, enthusiasm and dedication of our volunteers around the world,” said David Clark, Amcor’s chief sustainability officer. “Sustainability is at the heart of our company and drives a sense of purpose and inspiration in everything we do. At Amcor, we are committed to building a more sustainable future, which includes actively working to keep waste out of nature. A huge thank you to everyone who participated, supported and cheered on these efforts, also highlighted in our recent Sustainability Report.”

World Cleanup Day , an International Day recognized by the United Nations, aims to mobilize 5% of the world’s population to catalyze lasting societal behavior change around mismanaged waste. Since its inception in 2018, it has inspired over 91 million participants across 211 countries and territories, resulting in the collection of more than 543,704 tons of waste.
