Job Description

Supervises all plant and offsite warehouse activities and supports supply chain. Responsible for meeting shipping schedules and standards in accordance with applicable customer requirements and maintaining optimum supply chain functions at the least possible cost. Supervises personnel in absence of department supervisor.

 

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

  • Fully involved with local management team.  Provides technical input, solutions and options on improving productivity/efficiencies and product quality relating to shipping and receiving activities.
  • Establish priorities for the warehouse team and works closely with the shift supervisors to ensure the effective utilization of available resources.
  • Directly supervises and trains the material handlers and shift forklift operators to ensure a skilled workforce.  Assesses skills and recommends or provides training to ensure department personnel are competent in warehouse procedures/policies and department goals are met.
  • Administers plant rules and procedures and recommends candidates for hire, promotion, disciplinary action and/or termination.  Effectively handles employee complaints, suggestions, disciplinary action and/or termination.  Effectively handles employee complaints, suggestions, questions and maintains employee morale and discipline through fairness and impartiality.
  • Manages the movement of raw material and finished goods inventory to and from the Orlando facility and local off-site warehouse to ensure adequate warehouse space based upon the production plan.  Coordinates outgoing/inbound shipments with on-site freight carrier and outside carriers to ensure on-time customer shipments and receipt of materials and supplies.
  • Recommends and may implement programs to eliminate identified problems, to improve labor utilization and reduce costs.  Documents corrective action plans to ensure best of class warehouse operation, complying with company policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for overseeing forklift repair maintenance program.  Ensures equipment meets required safety regulations and repair work is completed and documented.
  • Responsible for compliance with applicable Federal, state and local safety health, environmental, building and fire ordinances and standards and ensure warehouse team works in compliance with such standards.
  • Assists in periodic (monthly and annual) physical inventory of raw materials and finished goods.
  • Assists in selection of motor freight carriers for special commodity rates, contract carrier and freight rate information.
  • Responsible for month-to-date shipping and receiving reports, such as Truck Shipped Bottle (vs) Preform, HFI, and Total Late and On-Time Deliveries.

 

 

• Oversees training and supervision of hourly employee activities; administers plant rules and procedures; recommends employees and candidates for hire, promotion, demotion, transfer, disciplinary action and/or termination.
• Effectively manages the work schedule for the plant to prevent idle time, and provide for the optimal use of manpower, machinery and material. This includes the proper use of any established work standards. Responsible for scheduling and controlling overtime working in conjunction with the plant production needs.
• Maintains standards of Quality and Food Safety to meet customer and internal specifications. Strives to continuous improvement in Quality and Food Safety performance through proper training, good communication, effective leadership / supervision, and follow-up with all members of shift.
• Maintains safe working conditions throughout the plant by taking corrective action on unsafe conditions or acts. Responsible for ensuring incident reports and associated corrective actions are completed in an accurate and timely manner. Chairs assigned shift safety committee, implements all approved safety recommendation, and insures compliance with established safety standards, including lockout / tag out, hearing conservation and other required programs.
• Effectively handles employee complaints, suggestions, questions, and conflicts in accordance with the guidelines established in the Employee Handbook, and in accordance with Company policy/procedure. Maintains employee morale and discipline through fairness and impartiality.
• Assists in the review of labor and manufacturing costs as they relate to production. Analyses, pursues and recommends methods for reducing these costs.
• Coordinates the implementation of any approved process or procedure changes. Responsible for communicating these changes to production personnel and follows-up to insure understanding and proper implementation.
• Keeps current on technical developments and changes in order to instruct and train employees..

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in supply chain
  • At least 2 years in a supervisory role
  • Travels: 10%
  • Driver’s license required

Compensation

The starting salary for this position is expected to be between $74,100 to $101,850 depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information is based on national averages and a geographic differential may be applied based on work location. Position may also be eligible for Amcor’s Management Incentive Plan / Sales Incentive Plan, which is an annual bonus program based on business and individual performance, as well as medical coverage and other health and welfare benefits.&#xa;&#xa;The salary range provided reflects the anticipated starting salary base pay for this role at the time of this posting and does not necessarily reflect full earning potential over the course of employment. This range is applicable to positions performed in jurisdictions with pay transparency requirements, including CA, CO, CT, HI, IL, MD, MA, MN, NV, NJ, NY, RI, VT, WA, Washington DC, as well as remote roles that may be performed in these locations. Compensation for roles performed outside of these jurisdictions may vary. The Company reserves the right to modify this range at any time.
