Purpose:
Work closely with the plant personnel and the multisite Quality Manager to facilitate daily quality functions. Ensure procedures are followed and product testing is performed in a manner that will enhance the delivery of quality product to the customer.
Responsibilities
- Follows all safety/quality rules and absolutes to foster the safety/quality culture in the plant.
- Tests quality, packaging, labeling specifications on product coming off the end of line for accuracy.
- Trains and coaches operators and packers on the line to be able to understand test methods and specifications to ensure accuracy and comprehension.
- Coordinates production inspection activities to ensure all lines are tested during the manufacturing process.
- Works closely with the Warehouse and Production teams to identify and implement continuous improvement projects to drive cost savings.
- Oversees the quality management system and conducts internal audits
- Place non-conforming finished product on hold. Coordinate the recheck and disposition.
- Maintain test equipment in accordance with set standards. Train others as required.
- Manages all quality reporting, retain program, and gage-list calibration.
- Test in process, finished, and return products as requested. Assist in developing procedures and acceptance limits.
- Work with Purchasing to address any vendor concerns
- Supervises the shift when the production and warehouse management team is not present.

Qualifications
- Must have good speaking skills.
- Able to edit documents for accuracy including spelling and grammar.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and employees both in person and through written and verbal correspondence.
- Ability to perform duties with minimal direction and be self-motivated.
- Adheres to safety policies and procedures.
- Visually inspects the facility for tripping hazards, equipment safeguards and helps to maintain a clean work environment.
- High school graduation or its equivalent required. Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the preferred knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 or relevant version required; certification as internal auditor preferred.
- Experience with lab testing, preferred.
- High attention to detail required performing testing in an accurate and repeatable manner.
- Production or quality control experience with extrusion, flexographic printing, and/or converting processes is a plus.
- Ability to do functional math
