Job Description
The Maintenance Technician Lead is responsible for supervising and directing maintenance employees during assigned shifts while ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and quality standards. This role includes maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving manufacturing equipment and facility systems to support safe, efficient plant operations. The position works closely with production, quality, automation, and maintenance teams to ensure operational reliability and performance.
Essential Jobs and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Report to front line leadership.
- Meet with the overlapping shifts and provide the update to communicate the starting work assignments. Example Production Support Work, PM’s, W/O’s, Project Work or Shop Work.
- Coordinate Preventative Maintenance schedules, weekend & nightly assignments to the Maintenance Mgr. and Production Mgr.
- Review the daily inspection sheets & complete the necessary maintenance paperwork from the previous day and file or forward to the appropriate party. Example PM’s & W/O’s for closing, Daily Tech sheets file, inspection sheets review & file, purge files as needed. Any changes in trending should be communicated with suggestion of improvement immediately.
- Hands On auditing of PM’s and the requirements, to be conducted on a routine basis
- Hands On Production Support as needed. Example Fill in for vacationing technicians, aid in training operators & technicians, extra support to identify and correct mechanical problem areas.
- Office work to cover 30% to 40% of the day while the Hands on Shop Floor presences should average 60% to 70% routinely.
- Hands on Project Work / Shop Work. Example: Rebuilding of replacement parts, securing of the shop and tools, cycle counting inventory as needed, etc.
- Provide the shop floor with a positive can-do attitude and provide the trouble shooting direction required to support manufacturing’s daily demand.
- Lead by Example: Safety, Workmanship, Documentation, and Attitude while promoting internal & external departmental teamwork.
- Audit and Implement corrective action on maintenance housekeeping issues.
- Uphold safety & quality absolutes.
- Work and perform to ISO standards.
- Any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Capable of physical mobility including sitting, bending, twisting, standing, and lifting.
- Capable of reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Capable of lifting up to 35lbs
- Capable of complying with all Safety requirements including the use of PPE: PPE includes but is not limited to Bump Cap or Hard Hat, Safety Eyewear or Prescription Safety Eyewear, Safety Shoes, Hearing Protection and Disposable Mask.
- Capable of maintaining an attendance record within Company guidelines and working required overtime.
- High School Graduate or equivalent with 2+ years technical school preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an industrial manufacturing environment in a multicraft maintenance position preferred.
- Experienced & Knowledgeable in hydraulic, PLC and electrical machine repairs.
- Previous experience with Logic Master & Bechoffs a plus.
- Computer knowledgeable in Microsoft Office
- Negative drug screen results.
- Work in a safe manner
Additional Information
- 6:30am – 7:00pm; 12 hour shift (2 Days On, 2 Days Off, 3 Days On, 2 Days Off, 2 Days On, 3 Days Off)

- Maintain a clean, healthy and safe workplace by ensuring adherence to safety standards.
- Conduct required safety reviews of equipment and processes prior to project start-up.

- Supply accurate and timely data as required by performance tracking and reporting.
- Apply resources in a manner that maximizes their effectiveness while assuring quality.
- Maintain a work environment that will contribute to the assurance of safety and GMP compliance.
- Adhere to established procedures, perform self-checking and pay attention to detail in the performance of you and your team’s work.
- Notify management in a timely manner of any problems with procedural compliance.
- Report observed quality problems and deficiencies in a timely manner.
- Make recommendations to management for improving the quality and efficiency of your work.
- Oversee work to ensure projects are completed.
