Position Summary

The Print Technician plays a critical role in supporting safe, high-quality, and efficient printing operations while contributing to a culture of teamwork, accountability, and operational excellence. 

This position is responsible for operating, setting up, adjusting, and maintaining printing equipment to ensure product quality, production continuity, and customer satisfaction. The successful candidate will apply technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a continuous improvement mindset while supporting the growth and development of team members across the operation. 

 

What You'll Do 

Safety & Compliance 

  • Demonstrate a Safety-First mindset and actively support Amcor's safety culture. 

  • Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, GMP, HACCP, and quality standards. 

  • Identify, report, and address safety concerns, quality issues, and operational risks. 

  • Support a clean, organized, and compliant work environment through daily housekeeping activities. 

 

 

Printing Operations & Equipment Performance 

  • Operate printing equipment safely and efficiently, including lid printers, cup printers, and specialty cell equipment. 

  • Set up and prepare printing jobs through plate, blanket, and registration installation. 

  • Adjust color, pressure, and print settings to meet product specifications and customer requirements. 

  • Mix inks and monitor color consistency to maintain print quality standards. 

  • Monitor production runs and make adjustments to optimize quality, efficiency, and equipment performance. 

  • Perform package and label changeovers accurately and efficiently. 

  • Troubleshoot print quality concerns and identify opportunities to improve process performance. 

Equipment Maintenance & Troubleshooting 

  • Perform machine adjustments, minor repairs, and basic maintenance activities using hand tools and established procedures. 

  • Maintain and adjust printing components including color heads, ink blades, cheeks, saddles, and rollers. 

  • Assist with equipment setups, size changes, and preventative maintenance activities. 

  • Diagnose and resolve equipment and process issues to minimize downtime and improve reliability. 

  • Partner with maintenance and production teams to support sustainable equipment performance. 

Quality & Continuous Improvement 

  • Utilize densitometers, barcode verification systems, and quality inspection tools to ensure conformance to specifications. 

  • Complete quality documentation, traceability records, production reports, and scrap documentation accurately. 

  • Maintain production data within company systems and work order processes. 

  • Participate in root cause analysis, problem-solving activities, and continuous improvement initiatives. 

  • Support efforts to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and enhance customer satisfaction. 

Teamwork & Employee Development 

  • Work collaboratively across departments, shifts, and functional teams to achieve production goals. 

  • Support onboarding and training of operators, PMOs, and fellow technicians. 

  • Share technical knowledge and best practices to strengthen team capability. 

  • Assist with production coverage and support operational needs as required. 

  • Actively contribute to a respectful, inclusive, and positive team environment.

Qualifications 

Education & Experience 

  • High School Diploma or GED required. 

  • Previous manufacturing, printing, production, or technical experience preferred. 

  • Experience operating production equipment and troubleshooting process issues is preferred. 

  • Experience in a printing environment is beneficial but not required; training opportunities are available for qualified candidates with strong mechanical aptitude. 

Technical Skills 

  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability. 

  • Ability to safely use hand tools and production equipment. 

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. 

  • Ability to interpret work instructions, specifications, and procedures. 

  • Basic computer and documentation skills. 

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills. 

  • Ability to learn new technologies, equipment, and manufacturing processes.

Physical Requirements 

  • Frequently stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive movements throughout the shift. 

  • Lift and move materials up to 50 pounds. 

  • Work in a manufacturing environment that may include varying temperatures, noise levels, heights, and confined spaces. 

  • Wear required personal protective equipment and comply with all safety requirements.

Hourly Statement  

The starting rate of pay for this position is expected to be $22.00; however, starting pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills and experience between $22.00 and $25.00. $2.00 differential may apply to second and third shifts.
