Job Description

Job Summary: 
The EH&S Coordinator establishes a strong, engaged and committed team to initiate and drive an effective EH&S cultural foundation to all levels in the facility. The EH&S Coordinator reports to the EHS Manager.   

Job Function/Essential Duties:

  • Encourage and promote a high degree of employee engagement and behavioral safety.
  • Ensure EHS roles and responsibilities are being met through employee coaching and development.
  • Develop, implement and manage safety training programs, policies and procedures.
  • Maintains accurate and complete environmental, health and safety records within identified systems.
  • Responsible for preparing, maintaining and updating environmental policies, procedures and manuals.
  • Lead site safety committee and first aid teams.
  • Identify, organize and conduct the appropriate EHS training for employees and contractors.
  • Leads incident investigations for accidents, near misses, injuries, spills, property damage and other site related emergencies.
  • Perform routine site inspections for both Safety and Environmental.
  • Perform work site and incident trend analysis.
  • Champion the behavior based safety program.
  • Maintains current understanding of safety and regulatory changes that affect the facility.
  • Responsible for preparing/updating the Amcor Regulatory Project Task List.
  • Functions as the facility resource for all environmental-related issues including but not limited to: site air  permit, emergency planning, storm water permit and hazardous waste management.
  • Responsible for maintaining/reporting plant safety/environmental metrics and communicating monthly results with the plant.
  • Responsible for managing/training of the electronic SDS system.
  • Reviews, approves and writes risk assessments and Best Practices.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Competencies & Minimum Requirements:

  • B.S. Degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related preferred; or 1-3 years of safety experience in an industrial setting.
  • Strong organizational skill with the proven ability to complete multiple tasks, simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Basic knowledge of OSHA, EPA and other government regulations.
