Job Description
As a member of the AFCD Supply Chain Leadership team and the leadership team for their Business Unit (BU), the Director of Supply Chain Management, BU will provide strategic oversight and operational excellence for all supply chain activities within their assigned BU, aligning with the overall objectives of the AFCD Business Group (BG). This leader will drive continuous improvement, optimize end-to-end supply chain processes, and ensure cost-effective, reliable delivery of products and services. The Director will collaborate cross-functionally to support business growth, customer satisfaction, and compliance with corporate standards. They will champion innovative supply chain solutions and foster a high-performance culture within their BU.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the supply chain strategy for the BU in alignment with AFCD BG objectives and corporate policies.
- Oversee demand planning, inventory management, and supply planning within the BU to ensure optimal supply chain performance.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of supply chain professionals within the BU, building capability and driving engagement.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for all supply chain functions, implementing corrective actions where necessary.
- Lead and own the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process within the BU, working collaboratively across commercial, operations, product line management, procurement, R&D, and finance teams to ensure effective alignment of supply and demand, optimized inventory, and support for overarching business goals through a robust monthly cycle.
- Identify, evaluate, and implement new technologies, systems, and process improvements to enhance efficiency and agility.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, safety, and environmental requirements across supply chain operations.
- Develop and manage the BU supply chain budget, driving cost savings and value creation initiatives.
- Lead risk assessment and mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions and ensure supply continuity.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree preferred. Equivalent relevant experience will also be considered in lieu of formal education.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of developing and executing supply chain strategies within a business unit or divisional structure.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes, including procurement, logistics, inventory management, and demand planning.
- Demonstrated leadership and team development skills, with the ability to influence and inspire others.
- Experience with supply chain systems (ERP, WMS, TMS) and driving digital transformation initiatives.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach to working across functions and with external partners.
- Results-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, and matrixed organizational environment.
