Job Description
-Assures safety initiatives are being followed, identify/resolve risks and initiate/participate accident investigations.
-Follows the Product Control Plan by maintaining part quality per specification; Accountable for all quality 2-hour checks on the shift.
-Monitors process control plan by ensuring all process inputs are followed (no changes are made to the process but all inputs are verified to be operating within process parameters).
-Ensure responses to corrective action requests are accurate, complete, and timely.
- Ensure all NCR's identified on the shift caught in the 2 hour checks are reworked during shift when available
Production Systems (Factbird and JDE)
-Monitors Factbird and JDE (production monitoring system) to manage and maintain production floor.
-Completes required production reports; Accountable for Production KPIs on the shift.
-Manages material waste (scrap) reduction on the shift.
-Issue & Return materials daily (colorant, lining material, additives, valves, WIP)
-Distribute scheduled activities to Technicians for color changes, PIN changes & tool changes
Manages Production employees to reach operational and business goals.
-Delegates responsibilities to direct and indirect reports.
-Organizes shift handoff meetings for shift employees to facilitate communication and resolve issues. Performs shift walk audits with out going supervisor.
-Identifies training needs and, in conjunction with Human Resources and Manufacturing Trainer, coordinates all employee training.
-Develops and coaches employees; Identifies and mentors back-ups.
-Controls payroll hours and maintains labor costs within budget.
-Schedules direct reports based upon labor requirements.
-In conjunction with Human Resources, documents and administers all employee disciplinary action.
-In conjunction with Human Resources, makes hiring and termination decisions.
-Leads and maintains housekeeping in accordance with 5S principles.
-Scripts, administers and performs annual employee reviews.
Operational
-Collaborates cross-functionally to ensure efficiency.
-Participates in scheduled Shift Leader Meetings
-Prepare and distribute daily shift report
-Execute shift handoffs daily (Safety, Quality, Productivity, Housekeeping & Staffing key issues.
-Lead and support Continuous Improvement projects as assigned.
-Support and maintain all policies of the company including but not limited to ISO/BRC Standards, Health and Safety Requirements, Continuous Improvement, and standard work procedures.
-Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office Suite software.
-Understanding of Production Monitoring Systems.
-Experience with problem solving methodologies.
-Administrative managerial skills, such as payroll/time & attendance reporting, interviewing, discipline/performance improvement, performance reviews.
-Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing practices.
-Basic knowledge of SPC (statistical process control).
-Manufacturing environment.
-While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; talk or hear; and use hands to handle, or touch objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
-Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
-Some exposure to office environment.
-Must be able to stand/walk 80% of the time.
Pay: The pay range for this role starts at 75,000 annually; however, depending on job related-knowledge, skills, and experience, the range may be between 75,000 and 85,000.
