Job Description
Position Overview: The Production Shift Lead is responsible for performance of the shift by maintaining control of the process, executing daily production plans and ensuring operators perform job responsibilities in the areas of safety, housekeeping, quality, and operations.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
Ability to perform the essential job responsibilities of the Machine Operator position in their functional area as outlined on the Machine Operator Job Description.
Ensure Operator PM’s are completed, monitor FMS and participate in changeovers when required
Ensure all mechanical issues are addressed or communicated to Supervision Correct or initiate correction on safety concerns that have been identified. Follow up to ensure correction has removed the safety concern
Document and monitor processes and operator logs to ensure accurate completion and identify necessary follow-up to issues
Ensure product quality standards are maintained, monitored and entered into Real SPC.
Follow up to ensure corrective actions have been successful. Contain suspect product as needed.
Work closely with Supervisor and/or Operations Manager to identify training needs and work closely with Operator and/or designated trainers to ensure training needs are met.
Act as primary contact for Operators to communicate information, assist in problem-solving and trouble-shooting, and act as a general resource.
Monitor employee behavior regarding work instructions, process control plans and operator responsibilities and correct or reinforce behavior as appropriate. Monitor employee behavior in the areas of safety, housekeeping, and GMP guidelines.
Provides general reinforcement on corrective employee behavior as appropriate and reports any significant non-compliant behavior to management immediately.
Provide input to supervisors and managers on employee performance
Participate continuous improvement projects.
Coordinate daily staffing and break relief.
Communicate with Shift Supervisor as required.
Qualifications: Education
High school diploma or general education degree with one to three years experience acting as a group leader, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Functional computer skills, including previous experience with equipment touch screens, and e-mail. SAP, Word, Excel experience desired, but not required.
Excellent organization and time management skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Self-motivated, goal-oriented
Ability to work overtime when necessary

Leadership Responsibilities:
Assigns employees work tasks
Monitors employee behavior to ensure compliance to Amcor guidelines, work rules and processes
Has the authority to shut down production lines or equipment in the event of a safety or quality concern
