Job Description
Summary: Responsible for the coordinated activities of the Shipping & Receiving personnel. Ensure adequate resources are scheduled to cover all shipping & warehousing requirements. Provide support to S&R Coordinator as directed. Ensure a safe and organized working environment of safety and cleanliness of the warehouse, baler room, truck docks, and associated grounds.
Responsibilities:
Direct the activities of Shipping and Receiving General Technicians ensuring all material to be shipped/received is correctly scheduled and in good order.
Assign work tasks to all S&R Technicians based on scheduled delivery of material and well as setting loads to be shipped.
Ensure all recycled material has been correctly weighed, staged and shipped.
Ensure trailers meet ALCAN Packaging Atlanta’s standards for cleanliness and integrity prior to loading and unloading.
Coordinate with QA Team Leader as material is released for shipment after GC testing ensuring all finished goods are ready to be shipped with correct labeling, banding, warehousing, staging, or storage of overage inventory.
Working with S&R Coordinator control roll stock inventory. Directing the moving of materials to and from Decay Room and NCM area.
Direct the delivery of required roll stock to press as needed per job docket and press schedule.
Ensure the organization and control the direct material storage area and finished goods rack system making certain all racks are easily identified, organized and properly labeled.
Support and communicate to the S&R Department all ISO 9001-2000 standards and quality objectives as they relate to the department.
Directs the activities of the S&R technicians to maintain the Baler room.
Instruct all personnel to ensure compliance and comformity PSI pressure of compactor and empty when Compactor is full (around 1200 psi pressure).
According to Company practices and procedures, receive all raw materials and supplies for the plant and office determining the appropriate location and timely distribution within the facility.
Communication and scheduling of delivery with all departments to ensure timely receipt of material/goods by various departments.
Ensure roll stock is stored according to grade and received and accepted according to Bill of Lading. Scan roll stock into Pecas Inventory.
Inspect all incoming material/goods to ensure damage free and accurate receipt of product/goods.
Instruct all S&R personnel to follow all personal protection procedures by use of appropriate personal protective equipment at all times while in designated areas and specific tasks requiring the use of PPE.
Follow and instruct in the established procedures and guidelines for the handling and disposal of all hazardous materials/waste.
Properly stores and arranges work area to maintain cleanliness and safe environment following all safety rules and regulations for grounding, storage, spill clean-up, etc.
Working with S&R, Maintenance & EHS coordinators ensure the safe operation of and maintenance of all equipment in department.
Ensure proper installation of battery charging equipment and battery replacement according to company policies and procedures. Connect new battery using hoist equipment. Batteries must be charged outside the lift truck.
Ensure all personnel operate all equipment in a safe manner at all times to ensure no damage to Company property or customer product.
Understand the EHS obligations, actively support the policy and implement the guiding principles in everyday activities. Report and investigate all accidents, injuries, and near misses.
Must be able to perform any and all work or additional tasks as required or requested by Management.
Requirements:
- High School diploma (or GED), one to three years related production experience and/or training: or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have very good mechanical and physical ability.
Physical Demands:
- The ability to lift up to 100 lbs is required. This position may require prolonged periods of standing, stooping, bending and/or reaching, balancing, climbing, kneeling, crouching, reaching with hands and arms, hearing and speaking. Must be able to hold, touch, feel and manipulate with hands product and equipment in a safe manner. Manual dexterity is required. Use of close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to rotate shifts as required. Must be available to work in excess of 8 hours per day and/or 40 hours per week when necessary to meet customer product needs.
