Job Description
Develop customized and unique packaging concepts based on customer specifications. Prepare accurate detailed documentation and direction for the fabrication of prototype and production tooling
WHAT YOU GET TO DO
- Create the initial packaging concept(s) based on customer specifications for review by internal and external customers.
- Design prototype and production tooling with an emphasis on quality, cost and manufacturability.
- Provide detailed prints, sketches, CAD model files and assembly drawings required to fabricate new tools. Provide direction to Tooling personnel during tool fabrication.
- Meet due dates as stated on E2 scheduling reports. Records labor time through E2 Shop System. Records any material not specified on E2 shop travellers.
- Use self-inspection methods to assure that engineering documents provide correct and accurate instructions to relay the design intent to tool room personnel.
- Creates the files necessary to print 3D models and can setup and run 3D printer.
- Work on process improvement projects to improve product quality, process efficiencies, and reduce costs incurred by rework by expanding the expertise in tool design by use of new tools, methods and materials.
- Responsible for working safely and maintaining a safe work environment: attends required training, identifies and reports hazards; wears required PPE for position; and is accountable for self as well as co-worker safety.
- Report all injuries to EHS Manager, Tooling Supervisor or Engineering Manager for proper care.
- Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Promote a service oriented and cooperative image for the Design Engineering department by assisting with problems or questions in a positive manner.
- Can perform all duties listed in the Perfecseal Mankato Tool Designer Associate Job Descriptions.
- Participates in and leads World Class Operations Management (WCOM) projects and initiatives to standardize and continuously improve processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
- Participates in and/or supports continuous improvement initiatives and knowledge in facilitating Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
WHAT WE VALUE
- The ability to read, comprehend, and transmit complicated and detailed instructions from prints, conceptual samples and ideas.
- A comprehensive understanding of machining, tool fabrication methods and CAD equipment and operation.
- Minimum of five years job related experience in tool design and tool fabrication.
- Proficient and demonstrated use of CAD software, IDEAS NX or Solidworks preferred.
- Intermediate computer knowledge required including knowledge and understanding of MS Office, SAP production reporting system and E2 Shop System.
- Able to remain detail orientated while meeting critical deadlines with changing priorities.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- A strong work ethic, reliable, trustworthy, has the capacity and willingness to learn, can contribute new ideas, respect their coworkers and understand the importance of working together as a team.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work in a team atmosphere, creating and maintaining a positive work environment while having dialogue with internal and external customers.

Compensation
The starting salary for this position is expected to be between $64,700 to $80,900; however, base pay offered may vary within the full salary range $64,700 to $97,100 depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information is based on national averages and a geographic differential may be applied based on work location. Position may also be eligible for Amcor’s Management Incentive Plan / Sales Incentive Plan, which is an annual bonus program based on business and individual performance, as well as medical coverage and other health and welfare benefits.

The salary range provided reflects the anticipated base pay for this role at the time of this posting. This range is applicable to positions performed in jurisdictions with pay transparency requirements, including CA, CO, CT, HI, IL, MD, MA, MN, NV, NJ, NY, RI, VT, WA, Washington DC, as well as remote roles that may be performed in these locations. Compensation for roles performed outside of these jurisdictions may vary. The Company reserves the right to modify this range at any time.Benefits
