Job Description
About the role
The IT Business Analyst II acts as a bridge between IT and business stakeholders by understanding business problems and changing needs, assessing the business impact of problems/changes and translating them into an IT demand.
Depending on the level and experience, it is expected that the IT Business Analyst II can lead/support strategic Amcor business initiatives through the execution of small/medium/large projects and intricate support activities for one or more functional areas.
Key Job Accountabilities
Regular Support Activities
- Partners with business stakeholders to continuously learn end-to-end business processes in the assigned area of focus to gain functional expertise
- Works daily on software support issues
- Develops an understanding of the foundation architecture diagrams for the supported system(s), including landscape management
Project Activities
- Partners with business teams to plan and implement/lead projects
- Mentor and develop expertise through delegation of activities, knowledge sharing, and process documentation review/adherence
- Documents business requirements and translates them into functional requirements and IT solution designs
- Works with development resources to confirm the requirement is being met
- Build test plans, conduct component/integration testing and participates/supports on user acceptance tests
- Assists with data conversion and data validation
- Participates in go-live activities and post go-live support
- Gains an understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process and applies it when doing system modifications and associated documentation
- Reviews solution with Solution Architects or IT Application Specialists and makes necessary adjustments before full deployment
- Supports knowledge sharing and knowledge transfer to end users
- Apply the Amcor Project Management Methodology with accountability for milestones while engaging and/or leading appropriate project team members (IT and Business).
- Responsible for defining project requirements, project scope, timeline, resources, obtaining Business and IT agreement on these items prior to project start
Qualifications/Requirements
- 3+ years of work experience in business process and/or IT
- Experience in a global environment desirable
- Knowledge in data structures and relationships
- Ability to apply the SDLC process to successfully execute system changes
- Fluency in English communication (spoken, written); other languages will be considered an advantage
- Knowledge of a B2B and/or Manufacturing environment
- Understanding of ITIL concepts preferred
- Agility, sound judgment, independent thinking, follow-through, and initiative
- Attention to detail with high level of accuracy with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Focus on continuous improvement in self and business processes
- Effective communications skills
- Ability to effectively work cross-functionally and able to demonstrate facilitation skills in a global environment
- Good organizational skills and the ability to work well both independently and as a member of a team
- Effectively demonstrate critical thinking skillsets
- Ability to travel based upon project demands
