Job Description
Follow company policies and procedures ensuring all cylinders received are recorded and visually inspected for any damage during shipping. Cylinder location is recorded and cylinder is stored in Pre-makeready racks or boxes. Follow company policies and procedures when pulling engravings for scheduled press runs to deliver correct cylinders listed on set up sheets identifying and logging rack number. At a minimum, you should be at least (1) shift ahead. Follow safety procedures for removing cylinder from shipping box or rack, placing engraving onto cylinder cart, and moving correct cylinder to staging area prior to installation on press. Complete all necessary paperwork to ensure the correct job number, cylinder number, unit number and color is correct for particular job on press. Inspect engravings with microscope when returned to determine if maintenance is required and prepare any engravings that need maintenance for shipping. Return engravings to proper rack locations if no maintenance is needed. (ensure rack locations are maintained accurately) As an active member of the Pre-make and INK team, you are required to participate in all team meetings and group discussions. Support all other Production groups at all times. Maintains and follows all company policies and procedures for EHS, personal protection, and hazard materials/waste handling according to established guidelines.
- Follows all personal protection procedures by use of appropriate personal protective equipment at all times while in designated areas and specific tasks requiring the use of PPE.
- Follows established procedures and guidelines for the handling and disposal of any hazardous materials/waste.
- Maintains and wears proper uniform according to company policies.
- Uses company provided safety lifting equipment, i.e., hoist, jacks, cylinder truck, cylinder pusher etc.
- On a regular basis, examines work areas to keep it in a safe and neat condition, including but not limited to maintaining under cylinder racks, maintaining engraving shipping boxes, proper grounding, cleanup ink and solvent containers and trash removal. Meets 5S+S goals and requirements for cylinder department.
- Properly stores and arranges work area to maintain cleanliness and safe environment following all safety rules and regulations.
- Any and all other duties as may be required or requested.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES specific to Pre-makeready and INKS:
Assist Pre-makeready and INK on 2nd and 3rd shift production adherence
- Deliver shift reporting to department leads and Technical Manager
Fill in as required to improve throughput as requested by the Pre-makeready or INK department leads. Maintain training and knowledge required to produce P-Carts and INK
- Must be proficient in both departments
Backup for shift lead in Pre-makeready and INK department
- Pay will be adjusted during these events
Requirements:
High School or G.E.D. 2 years previous experience in a manufacturing facility
