Job Description
PURPOSE: You will be the first point of contact for warehouse employees from 6:45pm – 7am on your assigned shift. Together with the warehouse manager, establish the shift priorities based on warehouse needs. Responsible for organizing warehouse, coordination of warehouse activities. Responsible for ensuring that all shift documentation relating to the movement of merchandise, within the plant/warehouse are performed efficiently.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Accountable for the safety of team members and enforcing Berry’s Safety standards through active engagement in safety activities and provides clear, consistent communication of safe work expectations.
- With guidance from the warehouse manager, directs the activities of the warehouse; such activities include shipping, receiving, housekeeping.
- Ensures that warehouse personnel have safe, efficient equipment in order to perform their job duties as assigned.
- Responsible for processing returns, and ensuring warehouse meets all company policies, procedures and programs.
- Responsible for processing load picks, Bills of Lading (BOL), receipts, put aways and other JDE transactions
- Responsible to ensure all trailers are secured when loading.
- Assists in training personnel in compliance to all company policies and procedures.
- Will conduct employee pre-shift meetings and training to keep employees informed on goals, company policies/rules and safety. Attends other meetings as required.
- Is responsible for verifying incoming/outgoing loads including inter-company transfers.
- Maintain maintenance on building and equipment for warehouse area.
- Staff are informed and held accountable for their food safety and regulatory responsibilities;
- Staff are positively encouraged and required to notify management of actual or potential food safety issues; and
- Staff are empowered to act to resolve food safety issues within their scope of work.

- Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Education and/or Experience:
- Minimum 4 years' experience in a warehouse environment
- Experienced in operation of forklift
- Proficient in computer skills including Microsoft Office
- Experience with JDE preferred but not required
- Strong communication skills and ability to handle multiple priorities at once
- Language Skills: Must have the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos and to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply basic mathematical equations such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to find practical solutions or explain a situation.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

- Work Environment: Work is completed in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment.
