Job Description

The Material Handler has rotating responsibilities for doing color changes, transporting product and raw materials around the production floor and doing floor maintenance.  Responsible for all other assigned duties as well.  This can be a great training ground for a technical position.

RESPONSIBILITIES:   

  • Set up and prepare production machines using the correct resin, additives, colors, IMLs, and packaging materials according to work orders and travelers.
  • Perform scheduled color changes and maintain an organized color staging area to support efficient production.
  • Support production operations by assisting floaters with breaks and helping Inspector/Packers with material handling as needed.
  • Package finished products by stacking cases to specification, operating skid wrappers, and removing/completing skids for shipment.
  • Ensure inventory and documentation accuracy by scanning products, maintaining proper labeling, counting scrap, and utilizing the JDE inventory system.
  • Complete required quality and production documentation, including line clearance forms, work order changes, and operator training requirements.

    Starting Pay: $21.53/hr

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or GED equivalent
    • Good work and attendance record
    • Ability to work extended shifts and weekends as necessary
    • Be able to work both independently and with others.
    • Perform assigned task in a timely manner.
    • Be Dependable and motivated.
    • Have basic math skills.
    • Need fork truck certification.
    • Need good communications skills, (verbal and written).
    • Be able to identify different mold compounds, (i.e. HDPE, LDPD, Polypropylene, Copolymer).

    Physical Qualifications

    • Able to lift 50 pounds regularly
    • Must be able to work around grease, oils and solvents without adverse reactions.
    • Ability to climb up and down ladders.
    • Must be able to be on feet entire shift and to stand, walk, bend and stoop regularly.
    • Good manual dexterity of arms and fingers.
    • Must have 20/20 vision with correction (if needed), and must be able to differentiate color.
