Job Description
ROLE OVERVIEW
Responsible for ensuring accurate inventory counts, communicate any inventory variances to Operations Planning Manager and assist with daily shipment and receiving of goods. Organize production materials & supplies for easy retrieval to the production area by the material handlers.
WHAT YOU GET TO DO
- Responsibility for inventory control for warehouse items and all supplies used in the plant. (Bags, cartons, raw material, finished goods, production storage locations, labels, pallets, tape, etc.)
- Evaluates production jobs when last issue is completed to verify appropriate material was issued and the appropriate finished goods were created and moved to the warehouse.
- Prepares product by banding, wrapping, and labeling finished products and placing in finished goods area(s).
- End of month inventory responsibilities. (all goods receipts and issues posted before end of last day of each month)
- Performs cycle counts as required to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Receives finished goods from production by verifying materials by batch and quantity placing materials into stock.
- Performs physical inventory for raw material, finished goods, regrind material and production supplies.
- Creates purchase request for warehouse items and production supplies.
- Helps organize layout of warehouse and areas that supplies are stored, including bin locations.
- Performs stock transfers directed from Customer Service and coordinates relabeling activities.
- Investigate all discrepancies found during all counts and reports them to the Supervisor/Operations Planning Manager to allow timely adjustments to be completed.
- Knowledge of all SAP warehouse transactions including AIMS errors, etc.
- Backs up Shipping Clerk/Receiving Clerk duties when Shipping Clerk/Receiving Clerk is not present.
- Serves as a Driver when needed by maintaining DOT physical and Commercial Driver's License.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Responsible for working safely and maintaining a safe work environment: attends required training, identifies and reports hazards; wears required PPE for position and is accountable for self as well as co-worker safety.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Participates in and/or supports continuous improvement initiatives.
WHAT WE VALUE
- Forklift Certification required
- Current Commercial Driver's License required
- Working knowledge of computer operation, specifically applications relevant to Amcor Mankato.
- Able to communicate by providing pertinent information to departments/personnel involved.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail while meeting critical deadlines.
- Working knowledge of all warehouse activities and related production activities.
- Good math skills
