Key Job Accountabilities

As part of the Material Handler Team, you’ll be responsible for…

  • Maintains accurate control of resin lot numbers across surge bins, hoppers, silos, gaylords, barrels, and any resin-containing containers.
  • Tracks and verifies color lot numbers to ensure correct colors are used in production.
  • Records daily activities in a comprehensive mixing log.
  • Performs physical mixing tasks, including moving 300-pound barrels, transferring partial contents, lifting 50-pound resin bags, and operating blenders and tumblers.
  • Calibrates blenders to ensure proper material blends in the mixing room.
  • Ensures machine hoppers remain full to support continuous operations.
  • Cleans and maintains all mixing, loading, and storage equipment to uphold safety and efficiency.
  • Utilizes computer systems for data entry and retrieval related to mixing operations.
  • Completes required paperwork for resin, regrind, scrap, color batches, & mixing documentation.
  • Oversees operations and cleanliness of the grinding area.
  • Manages scrap and regrind inventory and compiles detailed weekly reports.
  • Requisitions and tracks material movement into and out of the mixing room.
  • Constructs boxes to support departmental needs.
  • Adheres to ISO standards and Quality Management Systems.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned to support overall departmental performance.

Qualifications/Requirements 

  • Education:
    • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
    • Technical or vocational training related to manufacturing or industrial operations is a plus.
    • Forklift certification may be required or provided on the job

  • Skills/Experience:
    • Proven ability to safely operate forklifts and hand trucks.
    • Experience with equipment maintenance and cleaning (e.g., grinders, blenders, hopper loaders).
    • Competence in understanding and managing material flow (resin, color, regrind, etc.).
    • Basic computer skills for data input and retrieval.
    • Ability to complete paperwork accurately for inventory, scrap, mixing, and production tracking.
    • Comfortable performing color changes and material mixing tasks involving physical labor.
    • Familiarity with ISO standards and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

  • Personality/Attributes:
    • High attention to detail, especially when handling materials and documentation.
    • Adaptability to production needs and willingness to learn new tasks.
    • Dependability, with strong attendance and punctuality.
    • Ability to follow safety procedures and report hazards responsibly.
    • Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members and responding in emergency situations.

  • Additional Requirements:
    •  Must be physically able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and perform repetitive movements.
    • Must be able to wear all required PPE.
    • Availability for overtime and flexible shifts.
    • No travel required, but consistent presence on-site is essential for operational support.
