Job Description
The Production Team Leader is responsible for providing supervision and direction to all shift production employees; to operate the department within all safety regulations and quality standards; to maintain production standards; to exhibit the highest standard of professionalism and a positive attitude while handling multiple tasks and priorities.
Essential Jobs and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Promote a Safe & Productive team work environment
- Assist in managing the resources of the shift to ensure all goals are achieved
- Oversee operators for compliances, supplies & assistance
- Communicate between shifts to anticipate & prepare for any production concerns
- Assist in preparation & set up of the department assigned, but must be flexible to lead in any area as assigned by Shift Coordinator and or management
- Understand & perform machine operator duties when required
- Document and report substandard production
- Assign responsibilities to operators to help maintain routine housekeeping, cleaning and maintenance as assigned/required
- Assess labor vs machines running and adjust manning as needed
- Communicate these items to Shift Coordinator
- Lineup OT coverage as needed to maintain shift performance
- Monitor machine performance and report issues to Shift Coordinator
- Complete Webb Eff entries for the shift
- Train new employees
- Backup the Shift Coordinator in their absence
- Contact QA or request product to be held for further evaluation when issues are found/reported
- Work & perform to ISO standards, SOPs & established Work Instructions
- Uphold Quality and Safety Standards & follow the Absolutes
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Capable of physical mobility including sitting, bending, twisting, standing, and lifting.
- Capable of lifting up to 35lbs repeatedly.
- Previous experience in an assembly operation preferred.
- Must be able to lead and direct people.
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required.
Additional Information
- 6:30pm – 7:00am; 12 hour shift (2 Days On, 2 Days Off, 3 Days On, 2 Days Off, 2 Days On, 3 Days Off)

- Maintain a clean, healthy and safe workplace by ensuring adherence to safety standards.
- Conduct required safety reviews of equipment and processes prior to project start-up.
- Support the accomplishment of your work groups through the quality, timeliness and professionalism of your attitude.
- Supply accurate and timely data as required by performance tracking and reporting.
- Apply resources in a manner that maximizes their effectiveness while assuring quality.
- Maintain a work environment that will contribute to the assurance of safety and GMP compliance.
- Adhere to established procedures, perform self-checking and pay attention to detail in the performance of you and your team’s work.
- Notify management in a timely manner of any problems with procedural compliance.
- Report observed quality problems and deficiencies in a timely manner.
- Make recommendations to management for improving the quality and efficiency of your work.
- Oversee work to ensure projects are completed.
Frontline Leader Responsibilities
- Accountable for the safety of all employees for whom they are responsible through active engagement in safety activities and provides clear, consistent communication of safe work expectations.
- Supports and investigates situations in which line/equipment stoppage occurs due to perceived, imminent safety risk.
- Completes responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures, and applicable laws.
- Actively leads risk assessment activities for their area of responsibility by driving prioritized corrective and preventive actions to eliminate/reduce environmental, health or safety risks.
- Lead all required meetings with safety (i.e. Pre-shift, Department, Change Management, General communication, Town Hall, etc.)
- Completes incident investigations, root cause analysis and implements corrective actions accordingly in a timely and thorough manner.
- Ensures the proper training and development of all assigned employees for whom they are responsible.
- Sets goals for their organizational unit; achieves goals and ensures that all employees understand and work toward achieving goals.
- Motivates and coaches employees through good communication and frequent performance feedback. Identifies and coordinates additional training as needed.
