Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the safety of all employees for whom they are responsible through active engagement in safety activities and provides clear, consistent communication of safe work expectations.
  • Supports and investigates situations in which line/equipment stoppage occurs due to perceived, imminent safety risk.
  • Completes responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures, and applicable laws.
  • Actively leads risk assessment activities for their area of responsibility by driving prioritized corrective and preventative actions to eliminate/reduce environmental, health, and safety risks.
  • Lead all required meetings safety (i.e. Pre-shift, Departmental, Change Management, General communication, Town Hall, etc.).
  • Completes incident investigations, root cause analysis and implements corrective actions accordingly in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Ensures the proper training and development of all assigned employees for whom they are responsible.
  • Sets goals for their organizational unit; achieves goals and ensures that all employees understand and work toward achieving goals.
  • Motivates and coaches employees through good communication and frequent performance feedback.  Identifies and coordinates additional training as needed.
  • To provide guidance to the Molding Group team members.
  • Monitor mold repair and rebuild intervals.
  • Submit and approve capital expenses for mold repairs.
  • Monitor efficiency reports and determine areas that require special attention.
  • Coordinate with all support groups i.e. Maintenance, Scheduling, Printing, and etc.
  • Oversee employee evaluations once a year.
  • Troubleshoot problems in the molding process pertaining to the mold.
  •  Assist in the training of new personnel.
  • Fully understand and utilize the established ISO, HACCP, SQF, and GDC procedures.

  • Problem Solving/Conflict Resolution – Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully; develops alternative solutions; mitigates relationship conflicts and encourages constructive (problem solving) conflict.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

To exercise the charge, direction, and oversight in the molding department. Delegate responsibilities as needed to assure proper application of standards outlined in the I.S.O. manual. Oversee proper handling and operation of production equipment. Maintain production according to set standards and quality. Provide leadership, promote an atmosphere of tolerance and encouragement. Participation to maintain a team environment. Assist in ordering supplies as needed. Set budget for and maintain profitability of the department. Monitor production charts. Work under the direction of the Plant Director.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1)         High school diploma or equivalent.

2)         Good communication skills.

3)         Technical injection molding experience.

4)         Minimum 5 years supervisory experience.

5)         Experience in Injection Molding.
