Job Description

To provide management of materials and equipment capacity relating to planning customer requirements, purchasing raw materials, monitor planning of production orders to meet inventory objectives, customer delivery expectations, operational efficiencies and company objectives.

WHAT YOU GET TO DO

  • Geographic Scope: plant specific
  • Number of colleagues directly reporting to this job: 0
  • Acts as a safety leader and puts safety first in all responsibilities.
  • Manages all purchase orders for all required raw material films/resin; check lead times and have ready dates for customer ship dates.
  • Maintains purchase orders on Internal and External PO logs and distributes to appropriate personnel.  Updates SAP as needed.
  • Manages SAP messaging and acts accordingly.
  • Determines disposition of film identified on monthly old and obsolete stock inventory reports; manage raw material inventory levels first in, first out (FIFO).
  • Prepares monthly charts on aged inventories and distributes to appropriate personnel.
  • Coordinates the transfer of required raw materials among the plant operations where required.
  • Works closely with corp procurement in securing required materials from other plants as needed to support production schedule
  • Assists in resolution of materials inventory location problems.
  • Enters orders, data, in SAP as needed to support customer orders and production schedules.
  • Works with resin handlers on resin issues and coordinates with railroad on inbound and out bound needs.
  • Oversees material management for the facility to include new production to meet production schedules and confirms order acknowledgement.
  • Manages raw material requisitions for each order and manages oversize stock usage and allocations.
  • Manages raw material claim management, data entry, communication and closure.
  • Oversees raw material schedules and coordinates scheduling of the material with Production Scheduler.
  • Participates in production meetings to include meetings that would directly impact the Material Planner.
  • Provides updates to departmental key performance indicators (KPI’s) on a regular basis.
  • Actively participates in a WCOM team to support cost saving and process improvement initiatives and leads WCOM teams as requested.
  • Acts as a back-up to other Materials Planning positions and scheduling as needed
  • Establishes and controls min-max inventory levels for the purchased and BPP manufactured raw materials for Specialty Films and Resins

WHAT WE WANT FROM YOU

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Ops Management or a related field, or an equivalent combination of formal education and work experience.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment to include inventory management experience.
  • Strong level of knowledge related to purchasing/accounting processes.
  • Basic level of business acumen including the drivers of operating profit and working capital as it relates to materials planning.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel) and mainframe operations as it relates to procurement
  • SAP/Ariba Experience Preferred
  • Regular attendance
