Job Description

Job Summary
The Manufacturing Machine Cleaner is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of production equipment and machinery in a manufacturing facility. This role ensures machines operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with company and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clean, sanitize, and maintain manufacturing equipment, tools, and work areas
  • Remove debris, grease, and build-up from machinery using appropriate cleaning agents and tools
  • Disassemble and reassemble machine parts safely for deep cleaning when required
  • Follow cleaning schedules and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations
  • Identify and report equipment issues, wear, or damage to maintenance or supervisors
  • Properly handle and store cleaning chemicals and equipment
  • Maintain records of cleaning activities and completed tasks
  • Assist production or maintenance teams when needed

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, janitorial, or industrial cleaning is a plus
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and use personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Basic understanding of machinery and cleaning techniques
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good physical stamina; ability to stand, bend, lift, and work in industrial environments

Working Conditions

  • Exposure to loud noises, moving machinery, and industrial cleaning chemicals
  • Requires use of PPE such as gloves, goggles, and safety shoes
  • May involve lifting, climbing, and working in tight spaces
  • Shifts may include nights, weekends, or overtime depending on production needs

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching
  • Ability to work in hot, cold, or humid conditions
