Job Description

This position is responsible for maintaining and improving quality system, data analysis, customer interface, quality practices, and continuous improvement activities. The Quality Supervisor will report to the site Quality Manager and will work closely with functional area leaders, quality staff, corporate support teams, and production team members. This position will serve as the Backup SQF and ISO Practitioners, as well as lead Quality Systems initiatives for the department. This position will also largely focus on documentation management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Interviewing, training of Quality Team employees, placing, assigning and directing work, appraisal performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Ensuring company and customer quality and food packaging safety requirements are met.
  • Participating in the review of manufacturing and testing of new product to ensure quality requirements are fulfilled.
  • Designing and implementing process capability studies, as required to qualify products.
  • Providing guidance in the implementation of testing procedures to ensure quality requirements are met.
  • Tracking root causes of quality issues, coordinates corrective actions, and implements appropriate adjustments using established systems.
  • Facilitating performance metrics systems and present to management groups.
  • Interfacing with customers, vendors, 3rd party assessors and applicable regulatory agencies.
  • Ensuring proper usage and calibration of measuring devices (ie: calipers, gages etc..)
  • Directing employees engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure control over materials and products including responsibility for the data collection systems.
  • Responsible for sanitation and good manufacturing practice compliance.
  • Facilitating continual product safety in accordance with SQF standards through administration of compliance status to food safety requirements.
  • Supporting and provide guidance for systems as defined by ISO 9001 including documented procedures, audits and programs.
  • Facilitating team work focused on quality and operational improvement as well as customer satisfaction.
