Job Description

As a Principal Engineer – Thermoforming, you’ll be the go-to expert leading some of our most complex and high-impact projects across multiple locations. You won’t just support the business—you’ll help shape how we operate, bringing deep thermoforming expertise and a strong voice in how we improve, innovate, and grow.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Put Safety First

Safety is at the core of everything we do—and you’ll help lead that mindset.

  • Champion safe practices across all projects and teams

  • Make sure all engineering work aligns with safety standards and policies

  • Identify opportunities to improve safety processes and proactively implement them

Own the Work (and the Outcomes)

You’ll take the lead in defining, planning, and delivering major engineering projects.

  • Partner with customers and teams to understand needs, identify challenges, and define solutions

  • Build out full project scopes—including designs, calculations, layouts, and documentation

  • Lead project teams, run meetings, and keep everything organized and moving forward

Collaborate Across Teams

This role sits at the center of a lot of moving parts—you’ll bring them together.

  • Work cross-functionally to ensure equipment is delivered safely, on time, and to spec

  • Partner with vendors and internal purchasing teams to source materials and manage timelines

  • Communicate clearly and consistently with stakeholders across the business

  • Support hiring efforts when needed to help build a strong team

Drive Accountability

You’ll own multiple large-scale projects from start to finish.

  • Manage budgets, schedules, and overall execution

  • Keep stakeholders informed with clear, timely updates

  • Lead project closeouts and share learnings to continuously improve

Deliver Results & Keep Improving

You’ll play a key role in pushing the business forward.

  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement and kaizen initiatives

  • Stay current on industry trends and bring new ideas back to the team

  • Oversee installations, startups, and training for new equipment and processes

  • Identify opportunities for improvement and turn them into actionable plans

  • Serving as a subject matter expert in thermoforming processes

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering

  • 15+ years’ experience in Thermoforming and Materials engineering

  • Ability to travel 50% to domestic plants
