Job Description

1. Job Overview

Coordinates the daily activities of the Production Team to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency while developing a team environment.  Provides for a safe work environment through proper training and ensures product quality by utilizing statistical methods to control production processes. Direct responsibility for shift personnel in the assigned shift. 

2. Job Dimensions

Direct Reports: Up to 50 Hourly Associates

Geographical scope: OKOK Plant

Decision-Making Authority: Yes

Functional dimensions: Shift Operational Performance, OKOK Oklahoma City Plant

3. Accountabilities

  • Follow all established safety procedures in plant.
  • Tracking and directing all parts manufactured as needed for work order.
  • Training assignments of new associates, completing 30-60-90-day probationary period evaluations, and recommends discharge or retention.
  • Preparing all reports by thoroughly investigating an accident.  Interview all witnesses and see that the injured employee receives medical treatment. 
  • Managing housekeeping of entire production area.

4. Managerial/Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, production, and safety of employees on the shift.
  • Supervising all mold techs, team leaders, and machine operators in their daily performance of job duties.
  • Verifying all hours worked by associates are accurate in the attendance system and ensure all approved earned time off is properly recorded for all hourly associates working on their shift prior to payroll run.
  • Keep accurate records of attendance policy violations.
  • Documenting employees’ performance evaluations in a consistent manner.
  • Issuing corrective action notifications for program areas failing to meet the quality / delivery expectations in cooperations with Department and HR Managers.
  • Issuing all levels of disciplinary actions warranted by violations of plant rules in cooperation with Department and HR Manager.
  • Approve or deny vacation requests in the timekeeping system after ensuring appropriate coverage for the shift.

5. Qualifications/Requirements

  • High school education. Some college or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Clerical, computer skills and good verbal communications.
  • Majority of time spent standing and walking during shifts up to 12 hours.
  • Enclosed office space with frequent exposure to warehouse space and workshop floor; hearing protection required in certain locations.

6. Other information

  • Standing and Walking: Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 12 hours per shift) on concrete floors in a production environment.
  • Lifting and Carrying: Regularly required to lift and carry materials, and packaging supplies weighing up to 40 lbs
  • Climbing and Reaching: Occasional climbing of steps or ladders.
  • Visual and Auditory Acuity: Ability to read labels, print specifications, and computer screens. Must be able to hear equipment alerts and verbal instructions in a moderately noisy environment
  • Environmental Exposure: May be exposed to ink fumes, cleaning chemicals, heat, humidity, and moderate to high noise levels typical of injection molding and printing operations
  • Mobility and Coordination: Must be able to safely navigate production and storage areas with good balance and coordination.
