Job Description
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The primary duties and responsibilities of the Processing Technician consist of, but are not limited to, the following:
- Exemplifies the Amcor Behaviors and Values at all times. Leads by example and exhibits professionalism in all areas when representing Amcor inside and outside of the plant.
- Work in a professional manner with other processing technicians and maintenance personnel as needed to keep all equipment in top working order resulting in only quality product being released to the customer.
- Various other duties as assigned.
- Troubleshoot minor machine issues
- Ability to discern molding issues from machinery or process issues
- Record accurate production data necessary for tracking purposes
- Develop corrective actions for machine/molding issues
- Track downtime, quality performance and machine efficiency
- Train personnel to improve technical capabilities and experience
- Evaluate the quality of products form newly set-up machines
- Monitor production process
- Respond to reported machine/mold issues
- Start-up and shut-down molding machines as necessary
- Perform material and color changes in a proficient manner
- Communicate all changes and all important information to the Manager or Supervisor
- Ensure all system performances are optimized and running safely.
- Work with/relieve assembly line operators as needed to meet production requirements
- Follow and enforce all Environment, Health and Safety, ISO, Food Safety and cGMP policies and procedures

- Bonus to be familiar with operation and set-up of Injection Molding machines, robots, manufacturing software and processing systems
- Be mechanically inclined
EDUCATIONAL, SKILL, & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Prior plastic injection molding experience is highly preferred.
- Possess or obtain a technical understanding of injection-molding processes and procedures.
- Regularly required to stand for long periods; use hands to finger, handle, or feel, objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms.
- Good hand-eye coordination is required.
- Frequently required to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Frequent exposure to production floor; required use of PPE including but not limited to: Bump Cap, Safety Eyewear or Prescription Safety Eyewear, Safety Shoes, Hair/beard nets, Hearing Protection and Disposable Mask.
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include distance, peripheral, and depth perception.
- Frequently exposed to fumes, or airborne particles.
- Frequently works near moving mechanical parts.
- Good communication skills--verbal and written; must effectively communicate with employees, vendors, and customers.
- Independent in working effectively with little supervision; self-starter, displaying ability to work and deliver results in a fast-paced, performance driven environment.
- Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work as a cross-functional team member.
