Job Description

Quality Intern – Effects of Regrind on Part Quality

The objective of this project is to determine the effects of regrind usage on overall part quality in Injection Molding.

Responsibilities:

Data Collection:

  • Gather data on regrind content & how it affects overall part quality on overcap production
  • Record critical to quality dimensions and overall attribute data

Performance Analysis:

  • Analyze the collected data to determine optimal regrind usage rates
  • Determine which method of regrind processing affects production & quality
  • Identify any variations in performance across various regrind percentages

Documentation:

  • Create detailed documentation of the quality performance & processing rates

Reporting and Recommendations:

  • Prepare a comprehensive report summarizing the findings of the regrind study on processing & part quality
  • Provide actionable recommendations for regrind loadings.

Daily Tasks:

  • Performance of material trials & part review
  • Complete testing in the Analytical Lab or plant lab as directed
  • Provide statical analysis of data as directed

Skills Required:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, Minitab).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Gain experience in data collection and analysis.
  • Develop skills in evaluating and documenting equipment performance.
  • Learn about manufacturing processes and equipment capabilities.
  • Enhance proficiency in technical writing and reporting.
  • Understand the importance of consistency and optimization in equipment operation.
