Job Description

Location: 2300 Powell Avenue Erie, PA 16506

Direct Report: Tooling Supervisors

Purpose: Perform precision grinding operations to achieve tight tolerances, surface finishes, and dimensional accuracy on mold components.

Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):

  • Set up and operate surface, cylindrical, and/or jig grinders

  • Interpret blueprints and work instructions

  • Maintain tight tolerances and surface finish requirements

  • Inspect parts using precision measuring tools

  • Maintain equipment and ensure safe operation

Authorities (including, but not limited to):

  • Stop production for quality or safety concerns

  • Adjust machine offsets and setups within specifications

  • Recommend process improvements

Primary Duties (including, but not limited to):

  • Grind components to required tolerances

  • Perform wheel dressing and machine setup

  • Inspect parts using micrometers, indicators, and comparators

  • Document inspection results

  • Maintain clean and organized work area

Qualifications/Education Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • 2+ years grinding experience or equivalent training

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Experience with tight-tolerance work

  • Knowledge of mold components

  • Possession of a valid Journeymen’s license

Records:

  • Inspection reports

  • Timecards
