JOB TITLE: Material Handler

Department:  Production

LABOR GRADE: 5

REPORTS TO: Shift Supervisor

Pre Requisites:

·     Read, write and speak English

·     Past experience / proven ability

·     Be capable of using basic mathematics.

·     Be trained in and understand safety and efficiently perform the operations

      in this job description.

·     Perform those duties that it may; from time to time, be necessary to change

      or add to the Job.

·     Perform other related duties as required.

·     Abide by all plant rules and safety regulations in the performance of the duties

      specified here in.

·     Must have forklift license.

Specific Duties: (Included but not limited to)

1.   Delivery of Materials

a.   Insure the timely delivery of packaging and raw materials to maintain continuous

      operation of equipment.

b.   Materials to be staged in the designated area around the appropriate machine in

      an orderly fashion.

c.   Load cartons and bags to insure supply of finished goods cartons.

d.   Preparation of any special materials that may require manual mixing.

2.   Packaging of Finished Goods

a.   Packaging of finished product and building palletized loads to customer

      specifications.

b.   Monitoring and operation of automated packaging equipment to insure proper

      performance.

c.   Applying appropriate labels of packaging slips for product identification.

d.   Removal of finished goods pallets to warehouse staging area.

3.   Handling of Operation Scrap

a.   Labeling and removal process generated scrap to appropriate area.

b.   Grinding of plastic components for the purpose of materials reuse.

4.   Shop floor Management Participation

a.   Participate in daily team meeting.

b.   Contribute / implement ideas to improve operations performances.

5.   Other Duties as Assigned

a.   Perform miscellaneous projects and data collection tasks.

Authorities: (Included but are not limited to)

1.   Initiate action to prevent occurrences of any nonconforming product

      or quality systems.

2.   Identify and record problems relating to product, process and quality system.

3.   Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through designated channels.

4.   Verify the implementation of solutions.

5.   Lift up to 50lbs

6.   Work in a manufacturer environment
