Job Description
About the role
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Americas, the role is responsible for the cash pools, daily cash positioning, cash forecasting and any cash management matters for the Americas group. This role will assist as an in-house expert in maintaining and improving certain processes and functionalities related to the Treasury Management System (TMS). .
The Treasury Manager will be an established resource to the business finance community with respect to cash management best practices and will support the Shared Service Centers.
This role will enforce corporate treasury policy and strategy as well as support all business and corporate units within the North and Latin America regions regarding their respective treasury needs. The Treasury Manager will encourage and champion the continuous improvement of the Americas’ treasury team, as well as the related systems and processes.
This role will have one direct report within the treasury team.
Key Job Accountabilities
Interest rate management
- support budgeting and forecasting interest expense in the largest region within Amcor with a focus on developing a more system-based approach then the current manual process.
Working capital management
Back up other Treasury Manager in supporting and advising the businesses on initiatives which improve working capital within the corporate parameters and strategy. Such as:
- Analyze, setup, maintain and enhance supply side financing/confirming/etc. programs.
- Analyze, setup, maintain and enhance customer supply chain finance programs.
- Actively work with Amcor’s bank group keeping abreast of working capital management trends and present these trends to the businesses for possible implementation supporting their needs.
Treasury accounting/reporting
- Advise and train internal counterparts on treasury accounting related matters (especially in the area of cash, cash equivalents and investments).
- Ensure treasury entries are appropriately determined, reported and processed in the region.
- Work with corporate accounting and develop system generated entries from Amcor’s Treasury Management System that can be delivered electronically to Amcor’s ERP via a host-to-host solution.
- Continuously develop methods to improve reporting and analysis of cash.
- Assist in the development and enhancement of departmental reporting and analysis.
- Manage the approval process for the quarterly treasury statutory reporting requirements and advise the businesses of any deficiencies in the reporting.
- Oversee all SOX testing requirements with the region liaising with the global treasury team, the BGs, and internal/external auditors.
- Manage the global FBAR process, managing the communication with Amcor colleagues, working with external vendors and ensuring that FBAR required bank entitlements, bank balances and bank user data is properly retained throughout the year. Identify opportunities to leverage TMS in FBAR reporting.
Systems and processes
- Maintain and further enhance systems and processes within the region.
- administration and maintenance of treasury software products (e.g. TMS, Fxall trading, Fx Settlement Center) including implementing previously identified enhancement capabilities.
- Access and systems knowledge on all other online banking tools
- own SOX controls related to TMS and banking. Ensure that evidence of proper controls are maintained.
Project participation
- Participate in teamwide departmental projects. This role may be asked to support or lead projects for treasury Americas.
- Funding and system reviews.
- Investment of bond proceeds, M&A
Cash management
- Lead the annual Americas repatriation exercise within a complex legal structure comprising of several legal entities in multiple jurisdictions.
- Coordinate with the other Amcor treasury centres and implement a more efficient use of global liquidity and establish systems to track the liquidity across the globe.
- Assess, direct and coordinate business to Amcor relationship banks where appropriate and beneficial for each Business Group.
- Lead the Group cash confirmation process for all Americas entities including maintaining bank account register.
- Own and lead the annual Treasury Compliance Statement exercise for all the entities in North America and Latin America.
Financial Risk Management
Back up other Treasury Manager in supporting Risk Management activities. Such as:
- Evaluate and recommend strategies, in consultation with each Business Group, to effectively manage the foreign exchange and other market risks as they may arise
- perform back office tasks related FX dealing.
- Understand and articulate the economic and accounting impact to Amcor of market events and adopted hedging strategies
Talent Development
- As a Manager in the Treasury team, support the function by mentoring and developing junior talent in an indirect direct report relationship.
- This role will be responsible for 1 Senior Treasury Analyst and the manager is responsible for developing his/her direct report.
- Cross-train with Treasury Manager responsible for Americas risk management as and when appropriate.
- Ability to build and maintain strong and positive working relationships within and across the Global Treasury organization.
- Ability to guide and orient staff members in the business’ finance functions in assigned areas of responsibility
- Role model the Amcor Leadership Framework and abide by the Amcor values.
Knowledge and Relationship Management - advance the profile of Amcor Global Treasury through enhancing knowledge and fostering working relationships. This includes:
- fostering relationships with internal personnel, including other Treasury and GFIT members, local commercial and finance personnel including regional CFOs and external personnel, including, banks, advisers and auditors
- continuous improvement of Amcor Global Treasury function and building its profile within Amcor by leading training sessions and preparing communications, systems developments and enhancements
- proactively keeping abreast of the market with the intention of providing advice to Amcor entities, applying this knowledge to effectively implement sound processes and strategies.
- ensuring in all dealings that the ‘bank relationship philosophy framework’ is applied.
Qualifications/Requirements
Formal Qualifications and Experience
- Undergraduate degree in Finance, or Accounting,
- Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) preferred
- CFA or Tax certification is a bonus
- Minimum of 8 years of treasury, finance, and accounting experience in a corporate environment
- Minimum of 5 years in cash management, expert knowledge and experience with US cash operations, products, and services.
- A specific interest in systems would be advantageous
- Language skills – English required. Spanish a plus.
- Presentation and meeting management skills
- Advanced financial modeling and Excel skills
- Word and PowerPoint skills

- Communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to clearly and succinctly communicate in written and spoken English.

Compensation
The starting salary for this position is expected to be between $129 200 to $161 500; however, base pay offered may vary within the full salary range $129 200 to $193 800 depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information is based on national averages and a geographic differential may be applied based on work location. Position may also be eligible for Amcor’s Management Incentive Plan / Sales Incentive Plan, which is an annual bonus program based on business and individual performance, as well as medical coverage and other health and welfare benefits.Benefits
