Job Description

This role serves as a business subject matter expert in the areas of finance, control mechanisms, and procedures associated with the SAP solution and other AFNA financial systems. This role is responsible for Finance and Controlling accounting related to inventory valuation for all AFNA sites. As a Finance Manager, this role guides and contributes to post implementation discussions in the areas of site gap assessments, advanced training, and troubleshooting. The position is an enabler for change management of standard process adoptions and mentoring other employees on need for process adherence. You will be expected to perform assignments, lead initiatives, and solve problems with high complexity and impact.  You will be expected to provide insight to the Finance Leadership Team on Raw Materials price movements and forecasting. Your scope of responsibilities will include giving direction to first and second level colleagues and developing direct report(s).

WHAT YOU GET TO DO

  • Act as a safety leader and put safety first in all responsibilities, promoting an environment where each employee makes safety their first priority
  • Review and support completion of month-end standard cost update process and relative booking in the general ledger
  • Manage the Machine Hour Rates update process and the update of COPA settlements for Profitability of Business Group and Plants Accounting Reporting
  • Build and deliver Raw Material and Machine Hour Rates management reporting, providing accurate, consistent, and insightful reports and presentation materials to Finance Leadership Team
  • Coordinate and Review the Standard Drivers annual update process for all AFNA sites in the SAP system
  • Ensure accuracy of monthly/quarterly/yearly close processes related to FIFO and inventory valuation;  including preparation and / or review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and trend analysis
  • Present analysis and monthly reporting to the Finance Leadership Team, BU Controllers and Controllers as requested
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) and key contact for finance on procedures associated with the SAP solution and other AFNA financial systems and provide post implementation advanced training and troubleshooting
  • Actively engage in change management processes and drive process improvements, consistent processes, and train direct reports and broader finance team on various tools and reports
  • Define and drive implementation of and compliance processes that can be used as a standard for the business group and participate in end-to-end process alignment with all stakeholders
  • Define and engage appropriate Project Team Members (IT and Business); resources can be internal or external
  • Build organizational capability by executing human capital processes including goal setting, performance reviews, human capital planning, and career development for all direct reports
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and SOX; role  includes assisting internal and external auditors during financial and operational audits, pertaining to Inventory process and other Processes as a Business Process Expert.

WHAT WE WANT FROM YOU

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance or similar field required
  • 10 years of relevant work experience, preferably experience in process improvement initiatives and inventory valuation.
  • Familiarity in working with systems in a manufacturing industry is essential
  • Project Management knowledge and experience is highly desirable
  • 5+ yrs ERP experience
  • Learning agility: ability to walk through processes and learn the business quickly
  • Willingness to dive into detail to understand issues and identify linkages to other data

Compensation

The starting salary for this position is expected to be between $112,800 to $141,000; however, base pay offered may vary within the full salary range $112,800 to $169,200 depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information is based on national averages and a geographic differential may be applied based on work location. Position may also be eligible for Amcor’s Management Incentive Plan / Sales Incentive Plan, which is an annual bonus program based on business and individual performance, as well as medical coverage and other health and welfare benefits.
