Job Overview
As a close business partner for the Business Unit General Manager and the Business Unit executive team, you need to ensure optimization of financial performance and develop a BU strategy for the future. Lead the BU finance function and ensure delivery of G&A overhead functions of the BU.
Job Responsibilities
Business Partnering:
- Support the BU GM on setting the BU strategy, monitor the implementation such as overseeing the footprint optimization profitability analysis;
- Drive best practices in capital discipline (working capital and capital expenditures) and set stretch targets for the business to deliver continuous improvement in this area;
- Challenge the operations team on cost improvement and ensure strong cost control within the business;
- Manage and champion the Finance activities within the Amcor programs (V+, P+, etc), working closely with the functional leadership
- Support the BU in generating net sales growth, initiating & providing analysis that drive performance in the BU
- Holistic understanding of the business and able to leverage best practices and synergies across the plants
- Ensure all G&A functions are delivered such as IT, overhead cross charging, and procurement;
- Participates in all BU strategy work, monthly management reporting and key BU projects
Planning:
- Establish, review and/or refine the BU’s Strategic planning, Forecasting and Budgeting process;
- Review and challenge financial plans and projections with the right level of rigor for discussion and approval by BU executive management;
Reporting:
- Provide accurate and reliable financial statements on time-in full, and reports on the financial position of the BU to the BU exec team;
- Lead and monitor the variance analysis from budget, forecast and prior year, and use this info to drive improvement and take corrective action if needed;
- Lead preparation and timely submission of accurate statutory reports;
- Responsible in reporting problem with regards to FSMS to immediate superior or to any FS team.
Governance & Internal Controls
- Set the Internal Controls tone within the BU and ensure adherence to the BG policies;
- Advise / support Management to formulate appropriate financial policy issues in line with international standards and best practice to protect the BU from financial abuse, negligence and/or fraud;
- Review and authorize all financial transactions within delegated authority level (DoA);
- Work together with the Group Internal Audit function to set the audit agenda;
- Attend and respond to all queries of External Auditors pertaining to the BU’s accounts and financial statements
- Review auditor’s management letter and oversee the timely resolution of any issues raised by Internal / External Auditors as required;
- Ensure controlling and accounting for the BU in accordance with the internationally and nationally relevant regulatory laws;
Performance management
- Provide leadership for the Finance function, communicate to direct and indirect reports clear performance expectations and drive continuous improvement in the function;
- Coach, mentor and develop all finance personnel, particularly the top talent/high potentials; develop succession plan for key roles;
- Act as a role-model to communicate to Finance Department members Amcor’s values and leadership competencies; provide direction and support in times of change;
Inorganic opportunities
- Provide leadership future acquisitions, partnerships or divestures;
- Provide BU leadership for synergies development and executions, particularly in G&A and restructuring
Product Safety
- Ensure compliance with Product Safety Program and Policies at all times
- All persons shall have the responsibility to report problem(s) with regards to the FSMS to identified person(s)
Occupational Health, Safety and Environment
- Work in accordance with the responsibilities and authorities within Amcor guidelines and policies to ensure safety in the workplace.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy or Finance, CPA
- At least 10 years’ experience in finance and accounting with several years management experience in leading the finance department in a reputable MNC.
- Experience in a public accounting firm is a plus.
- Sound knowledge of IFRS and controls.
- Experience in tax and treasury would be an advantage.
- Self-motivated and self-driven
- Good English language communication skills
- Knowledge of flexible packaging company would be an advantage
