Main Purpose of Role:
To support the HR Manager in the delivery of an efficient and effective HR support and advisory service to the site by providing first line contact and advice on all people related issues and ensure that internal processes and legal requirements are followed.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
• Proactively build relationships to provide a credible HR advisory service to all managers and employees by influencing and guiding them through any issues and processes.
• Handling the full scope of ER matters such as absence management, performance management, disciplinary and grievances and flexible working etc.
• Provide advice and guidance on occupational health referrals and return-to-work cases to managers.
• Preparation of contracts of employment and HR related documentation.
• Arrange and attend informal/formal meetings and hearings, ensuring that all paperwork is accurate and take notes/advise at meetings as required.
• Support the HR Manager as required
• HR administration tasks for all aspects of employee lifecycle including induction presentation
• Administrative tasks such as booking appointments, arranging health surveillance checks/referrals, arranging awards/treats, coordinating workwear, and creating access cards.
• Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and data protection regulations.
• Lead the recruitment process, including management of offers and contracts.
• Facilitate the onboarding process for new employees, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed and compliance requirements are met.
• Issuing and keeping stock of workwear
• Regularly produce and analyse HR data to identify any trends and provide robust solutions and present daily to management.
• Monitor and update all relevant employee records including holidays and absence etc.
• Contribute as a project team member, supporting or leading on small/medium projects to ensure business benefits are realised and to support the continuous improvement in HR service delivery.

Required Experience and Competencies:
• Previous experience in a HR Advisor role, CIPD Level 5 qualified
• Able to lead management training
• Sound knowledge and understanding of employment legislation & HR practices
• Resilient and flexible with the ability to work with ambiguity and manage a busy and varied workload in a sometimes complex and changing business environment
• Proactive with strong negotiation and influencing skills
• Able to overcome objections
• Ability to effectively handle complaints, grievances, disciplinaries and appeals
• Good analytical and evaluation skills
• Well-developed written, verbal and interpersonal skills
• Great work ethic and a pleasure to work with
• Good IT skills particularly in the use of MS Office and databases
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
