Job Overview
The Analytical Technician provides analytical testing and laboratory support to facilitate innovation, product development, quality improvement, and business initiatives across the Asia Pacific region. The role is responsible for conducting analytical evaluations, maintaining laboratory standards and safety protocols, managing analytical data and databases, and supporting the effective operation of the Innovation Center Analytical Lab. Working closely with R&D, technical, and business teams, the Analytical Technician contributes to customer solutions, competitive product analysis, raw material characterization, and continuous improvement initiatives while supporting the development of world-class analytical capabilities and innovation programs.
Key Accountabilities
- Carry out testing activities in accordance with China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS) requirements and Product Safety standards.
- Support testing activities for new products, innovation projects, factory change requests, customer complaints, and customer sample evaluations.
- Establish, validate, and implement new testing methods to support manufacturing plants and ensure compliance with new regulatory requirements.
- Procure, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and testing instruments to ensure accurate and reliable results.
- Support Quality Control teams through technical guidance, knowledge sharing, and laboratory-related training.
- Support the implementation of Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) initiatives and ensure compliance with laboratory safety requirements.
- Maintain laboratory housekeeping standards and practice 5S principles (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) to promote an organized, efficient, and safe work environment.
- Assist in the development of innovative products and technologies, contributing to the creation and protection of Amcor's intellectual property portfolio.
Qualifications / Requirement
- Bachelor of Science, Master's degree in science discipline is highly preferred.
- Preferably someone who work in similar or the chemical related industry are preferred.
- Fluent in both English and Chinese, verbally and written communication
- Experience managing customer facing with knowledge of end use markets, graphic and packaging processes.
- Outstanding customer service and communications skills, both oral and written, to successfully interact with customers, vendors, outside graphics agencies, and internal stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of MS Office, GCMS, method validation, CNAS requirements
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize high volume, and high velocity environment, with limited supervision and direction.
- Exhibited conscientious attention to detail, through successful work in similar environments.
- Must have the ability to work effectively in a team environment, with a positive attitude.
- Ability to work flexible/extended hours on planned or occasionally on short notice. In some periods, significant and on-going commitment may be required to complete critical projects.
