Job Overview
As Category Procurement Manager – Greater SEA, you will champion the development and implementation of all Procure Plus activities within the Greater SEA geographies (Thailand, Indonesia & Philippines) in order to meet Amcor’s and the Business Group’s strategic and operational objectives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the execution of the Global and APAC procurement strategy & processes in Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Philippines.
- Deliver sustainable improvements to business results including supply assurance, cost, quality, service, innovation and sustainability.
Job Responsibilities
Country Business Partner
• Serve as the Greater SEA representative on all procurement issues and procedures as a SPOC. Facilitate cross country topics and handover to the right stakeholders.
• Coordination of all procurement activities within the BU during project execution phase.
• Accountable for development, execution and maintenance of procurement strategy and project plans within the countries, in alignment with country stakeholders (Operations, Technical, Finance, Sales etc.) as well as category market and global procurement strategies.
• Accountable for procurement KPI performance management and process compliance in the countries within their own area of responsibility.
• Ensuring the execution of the SBM process (from screening to onboarding and lifecycle management) for country suppliers.
• Maintains strategic relationships with all key suppliers (strategic, critical and core) located in countries.
• Analyses supply market, anticipates changes and drives associated procurement activities.
• Evaluates contracts and suppliers in order to facilitate final supplier base decisions with relevant stakeholders.
• Ensures products and services are purchased in the most cost and time efficient manner, implements and ensures purchasing best practices.
• Coordinates category & supplier strategy implementation in the country.
• Accountable to provision country information for key programs
• Align with Global Category streams to understand and support Global & Regional procurement category strategies
• Translate the purchasing strategy in concrete action plans in order to satisfy customer needs, company targets and quality / safety norms and standards
• Ensures that the needs of the sites are effectively represented in the Purchasing strategies and to achieve this must work closely with the Site Leadership Teams
Compliance
• Set clear standards with respect to Procurement and ensure consistency with Amcor requirements and standards
• Identify key areas of non-compliant sourcing choices and effect corrective plans to ensure 100% compliance across Greater SEA
• Ensure that Procurement is integrated in core business processes
• Establish and implement Procurement DOA in Greater SEA
• Collaborate closely with relevant departments to ensure understanding and compliance with key procurement strategies and policies
• Comply with, and sign, Amcor’s Code of Business Conduct & Ethics, as well as all related policies (e.g. Anti-Bribery & Corruption Policy)
Relationship Management
• Identify both internal and external stakeholders, understand and interpret their current and future needs, and manage their expectations.
• Give advice and build long-term value partnerships
Financial Planning
• Implement financial plans & budgets in order to meet goals, targets and objectives
• Ensure that financial resource allocation is cost-effective and aligned with strategic and operational plans
• Provide periodic and ad-hoc reports and forecasts on performance against plan
Leadership and People Management
• Lead, develop, motivate and assign people to appropriate tasks.
• Ensure career development and succession planning is in place for the procurement function
• Assess and provide development feedback to procurement team members
• Invest time in developing / practicing new skills and tools
• Ensure that the right people are in the right place with the appropriate support to contribute to operating plan in order to deliver financial results in line with agreed budget
Qualifications
Knowledge and Experience
- 8+ years of experience in a senior role in a procurement function or in program management and execution, preferably in a large manufacturing environment
- Experience in an international company
- Proven leadership skills and experience
- Strategic sourcing skills and market knowledge and experience
- Strong influencing and persuasion skills
- Effective participation in multi-functional work-projects and cross-functional teams in an international environment
- Working knowledge of company information and data systems used by Procurement
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience in training development and delivery
- Excellent problem solving, team building, project management and change management skills
- Proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Education and Certifications
- Bachelors Undergraduate Degree in relevant field of study, ideally MBA
