JOB PURPOSE
As HR Manager for the Swansea plant, you won’t just support the business — you’ll help shape it. Working closely with the Plant General Manager and Senior Management Team, you’ll drive a people-first agenda: building engagement, strengthening capabilities, and embedding a culture of accountability and performance that delivers lasting impact.
You’ll be part of a wider international HR community across Amcor’s EMEA network and Meat & Dairy Business Unit, giving you exposure to broader initiatives, best practices, and opportunities to collaborate beyond the local site. Backed by the scale and expertise of a global organisation — while retaining the autonomy to make decisions locally — you’ll play a visible and influential role in both the plant’s performance and employee experience.
If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, want your work to make a tangible difference, and are excited by a role with real scope, visibility, and influence, then this role is for you.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Lead the HR turnaround agenda — Drive and deliver the HR plan supporting the plant’s recovery, improving accountability, reducing absenteeism, increasing flexibility, and strengthening employee engagement across the workforce.
Be a true business partner — Act as a key member of the Senior Management Team, advising the Plant General Manager on people strategy, workforce planning, organisational design, and change management within a complex manufacturing environment.
Own the full HR cycle and labour relations — Oversee all core HR activities including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, learning & development, compensation, payroll, and offboarding, while managing relationships with the GMB union and employee representatives and ensuring compliance with UK employment law.
Build and develop the HR function — Lead and support the local HR team while collaborating with the wider EMEA and Meat & Dairy HR network to share best practices, drive consistency, and strengthen HR capability across the site.
