POSITION:                                 Materials Coordinator

REPORTS TO:                           Materials Supervisor   

GRADE:                                     Salaried Position

LOCATION:                                Brampton, Ontario

Position Overview:

Continuously improve the facility’s production planning, inventory control, customer service, and logistics. Provide support to the Production, Maintenance, and Warehouse Departments in order to provide high quality containers in greater numbers at a superior level of service to the customer. 

Essential Responsibilities and Duties: 

Ensure the safety of all employees.

Schedule, coordinate, and arranges in-bound and out-bound freight for raw materials, finished goods, and other good movements (such as molds and tooling). Serve as primary point of contact for distribution activities. Follows company rate routing guidelines to minimize freight expenses of outbound loads. 

Completes required reports and data analysis to help facilitate plant operation in a cost effective manner. Assists Supply Chain Operations Manager in reviewing opportunities to reduce plant costs and improve plant operations. 

Performs production planning on a daily basis and monthly scheduling to maximize equipment efficiencies. 

Enter sales orders and subsequent changes to guarantee the delivery of customer requirements. 

In accordance with company policy, purchase the raw materials needed by the production department to manufacture quality containers efficiently. 

Communicate directly with customers to satisfy product and delivery needs information or planning requirements, and materials specifications. 

Supervise and assist with inventory control through cycle counting, production scheduling, and warehousing. 

Assists and performs regular maintenance on the manufacturing database to provide optimum use and accurate reporting. 

Direct oversight of incoming raw materials and in check process.  Provides training to materials and warehouse departments.  Responsibilities include compliance of all company policies including continuous improvement.

Strong multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize competing responsibilities, stay organized, and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education Required:  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; combined experience may be considered.

Experience Required:  Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a materials position preferably in plastics manufacturing.

The pay range for the above-referenced position is determined by considering many factors such as experience, qualifications, certification, skills, education and other based- related factors.  Salary decisions are based on each job.  A reasonable estimate of the salary range: $67,200 - $84,000
