About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Plant General Manager to lead our Osnago manufacturing site — a strategically important facility producing high‑value medical devices, inhalation systems, and healthcare packaging for highly regulated markets.
This role has full accountability for site performance, combining safety, quality, operational excellence, people leadership, and financial delivery. You will lead a large, complex operation running 7 days a week, while shaping the site’s long‑term competitiveness, innovation capability, and sustainability performance within Amcor’s European operations.
Reporting to the HBW Europe Operations Director, you will play a critical role in strengthening customer trust, driving transformation, and supporting Amcor’s growth strategy in medical and pharmaceutical markets.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
Health, Safety & Environment (Top Priority)
- Champion a zero‑harm culture and ensure full compliance with company standards and Italian regulations
- Lead risk identification, prevention programs, and corrective actions
- Act as the senior decision‑maker in safety or emergency situations
- Drive strong environmental performance across energy, waste, water, and pellet loss prevention
Operational Excellence
- Lead end‑to‑end manufacturing across injection molding, assembly, decoration, and cleanrooms
- Deliver key KPIs across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Productivity
- Embed strong daily management routines and visible shopfloor leadership
- Drive continuous improvement using Lean tools (5S, Kaizen, RCA, TPM, SMED)
Quality, Compliance & Regulation
- Ensure full compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 13485, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, FDA and other regulatory frameworks
- Maintain audit readiness and ensure robust corrective and preventive actions
- Foster a culture of quality ownership across all functions
Financial & Business Leadership
- Deliver site financial objectives including EBITDA, cost control, and cash generation
- Own key P&L levers such as labor efficiency, scrap, energy, and conversion costs
- Lead CAPEX planning, execution, and ROI delivery
- Use data and insight to support disciplined, fact‑based decision making
Innovation & Strategic Projects
- Support the industrialization of custom medical and inhalation devices, including connected solutions
- Partner closely with R&D, Sales, and Quality to ensure manufacturability and scalability
- Lead major transformation initiatives (automation, digitalization, layout changes, MES rollouts)
People Leadership & Employee Relations
- Lead and develop a high‑performing site leadership team
- Build strong engagement, accountability, and succession capability
- Lead constructive social dialogue with unions and employee representatives
- Ensure full compliance with Italian labor law and collective agreements

- ~224 permanent employees
- 7‑day operation
- 540,000 sq. ft. facility including ISO 7 & 8 cleanrooms
- Injection molding, assembly, and decoration operations
- Annual sales approx. €50M, EBITDA approx. €10M
What We’re Looking For
Experience & Background
- Proven Plant Manager or senior operations leadership experience in complex, regulated manufacturing
- Strong exposure to plastics, medical devices, pharmaceutical packaging, or similar industries
- Demonstrated success delivering financial results and leading transformation initiatives
Education
- Master’s degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Plastics/Polymer, Chemical, or similar)
- Bachelor’s degree considered with significant relevant experience
Skills & Capabilities
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, automation, and maintenance
- Deep knowledge of safety, quality systems, and regulatory environments
- Solid Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement expertise
- Comfortable working with ERP, MES, and digital production systems
