1. Job Overview
The Commercial Manager will oversee all pricing analysis within the Thailand and Philippines Business units. The role will be the key link between Commercial pricing decisions and the finance costing implications.
The role will have ownership of all pricing proposals, growth CAPEX projects & regular pricing updates. The Commercial manager will be a key person in creating, developing and implementing Amcor commercial strategy for the relevant business units.
2. Job Dimensions
This role will cover 5 plants – 4 in Thailand and 1 in Philippines.
3. Principal Accountabilities
Pricing Proposals
- Control and guide all pricing proposals for new business
- Ensure that all pricing adjustments on existing SKUs are complete and align with contract and strategic goals
- Maintain and regularly update a pricing template and history database.
- Process Cost accounting – responsible for the accurate costing report including costing variances.
- Report on inventory balance and reconciliation with financial data
Budgets & Planning/Outlook
- Accurately forecast pricing based on relevant indices and foreign exchange.
- Lead the preparation of annual budgets and quantitative standards, incorporating strategic foresight and past performance data.
- Support monthly close process. Create monthly outlooks and financial analyses to support decision-making and resource management.
Guidance and Oversight
- Ensure that pricing decisions by commercial are made with the best quality of data and analysis.
- Partner with commercial to develop the Amcor Thailand and Philippines commercial strategy.
- Conduct cost analysis and provide recommendations for leakages and cost-saving initiatives.
- Support calculation of by unit and customer profitability analysis both for actuals and forecast
Financial Controls
- Conduct regular testing of sales prices and invoicing
- Review accuracy of standard cost and report standard cost variances
Capital Control
- Review Growth CAPEX projects that involve new customers and business opportunities.
4. Qualifications/Experience
- B.S. in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration
- Advanced degree preferred
- CMA, or CPA preferred
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and corporate financial policies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and leadership skills, ability to work with and/or supervise a variety of people.
- Strong computer skills (Advanced Excel and PowerPoint)
- At least 6 to 10 years of experience in finance and accounting, with at least 3-4 years of relevant manufacturing accounting experience
