Mold Repair Technician (Kansas Rd. Location)

Job Description
SUMMARY
This position is responsible for repairing and maintaining molds used in the injection molding process within the facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work in a neat and orderly manner
- Repair molds in accordance with Tool Shop Work Instructions
- Work with more advanced associates to accomplish repairs
- Work with a variety of associates within the company to accomplish organized objectives
- Tear down and assemble molds
- Change core inserts & orifice sizes
- Troubleshoot mold problems
- Use precision tools and bench work
- Understand workings of molds to assist with improvements
- Clean Shop as needed
- Be able to lead a repair operation and keep it moving toward completion
- Analyze parts and plan repair procedures
- Detect possible future problems or existing problems during the course of preventive maintenance
- Follow applicable Food Safety and cGMP polices
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
REQUIREMENTS
- 2 year degree in machining trades technology (Tool & Die or Injection Mold Tooling) from Vincennes University or equivalent
- Machine shop mathematics (algebra, geometry, trigonometry)
- Ability to run conventional machine shop machines (including CNC equipment)
- Able to work independently and with others
- Strong interpersonal communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong problem solving skills
- Ability to read and interpret written documents

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and occasionally exposed to various types of equipment that have vibration. The noise level in the work environment requires hearing protection.
